When it comes to fantasy football streamers, the defense/special teams position is always one to monitor. In fact, many owners opt to intentionally stream the position all season long, playing positive matchups over drafting a highly-regarded unit. For those looking to do just that starting in Week 16, this article will have some solid options for you. All bye weeks have been accounted for at this point, making a streaming option much less appealing but if you want high-upside players to help your team in the fantasy playoffs, here are some to consider.

Read on for three D/ST fantasy football streamers that are worth consideration for Week 16.

Defenses must be owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues to be included in the Week 16 fantasy football D/ST streamers column. All ownerships for players will be provided and will reflect that of Wednesday morning, once waivers are processed.

Week 16 Fantasy Football D/ST Streamers

Philadelphia Eagles vs. NYG (38.2%)

It’s clear the Eagles haven’t been the same defense they normally are, ranking as the No. 16 fantasy football defense. But, against a team led by either Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm, I like their chances here this week. The Giants have been horrible lately, especially on offense, and the Eagles are coming off a big division win last week against Washington. Opposing defenses facing the Giants offense average about 6.8 fantasy points per game (FPPG), which is decent enough for a streaming option. The Eagles should be able to force a few turnovers and generate pressure on their beat-up offensive line.

Los Angeles Chargers at HOU (33.0%)

At this point in the season, the AFC is full of playoff-caliber teams. The Chargers are near the top, so they aren’t going to let up at any point. They face one of the league’s worst teams in Houston, who allow opposing defenses to score nearly 9.0 FPPG this season. The Chargers’ defense is inconsistent, but they’ll surely be able to pressure Davis Mills and force mistakes early and often. They have only posted one double-digit fantasy football performance all season long, so they aren’t a top option, but against a horrible offense, the chances for a solid game are high.

New York Jets vs. JAX (2.3%)

Despite allowing 31 points last week against the Dolphins, the Jets defense played well. This is pretty much the last streaming option most fantasy managers would consider, as the Jets rank as the worst fantasy football defense. However, they are facing the Jaguars. The Jets are able to generate pressure on the defensive line and will likely force a few mistakes out of Trevor Lawrence. The rookie has only thrown one touchdown since Week 9. At only 2.3 percent ownership, the Jets could be a sneaky play this week.
