Welcome back to the latest edition of the FlurrySports Fantasy Football Start or Sit article! By clicking in, that means that you were one of the survivors of last week’s bye-pocalypse. This week, things get a little easier, with only the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders on a bye. But that doesn’t make things any less scary, because in this special Halloween edition you will find a horror movie reference included in each recommendation as well.

This article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes or Kyler Murray, you know what to do. This article will look at fantasy football QBs on the fringe of QB1/Streamer status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 8 QBs

Start: Kirk Cousins vs. Cowboys

Team Name: First Cousins

Coming out of their bye week, Kirk Cousins has been a QB1 in four out of six starts this season. With a matchup against the Cowboys, who give up 20.3 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing QBs, it looks like he will make it five of seven. In a game with the highest Vegas total of the week, at 55, and featuring two of the most electric sophomore WRs in the game in Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb, this one could go a long way to deciding many fantasy football matchups on Sunday night. Enjoy some Halloween candy and sit back and watch two teams out for Blood. Cousins will be a QB1 this week for your team.

Start: Daniel Jones at Chiefs

Team Name: Jonesing for More TDs

Daniel Jones has been the picture of inconsistency this season, with two games putting up top-six production, three games as a mid-range QB2 and two weeks outside of QB2 range, including in Week 5 when he finished QB34 for the week. This week though, he gets a go-round with the Chiefs, who are giving up 24.1 fppg to opposing QBs (second-worst in the league). As of this writing, it sounds like he might have some additional help this week, with Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard all returning to practice on Wednesday as well. Even if Daniel Isn’t Real as a QB1 for the remainder of the season, he will certainly be this week.

Sit: Sam Darnold at Falcons

Team Name: Sam I Am

After starting off the season as the QB5 through the first four weeks, averaging 24.4 fppg, Sam Darnold has fallen off the QB1 map over the last three weeks, averaging 9.3 fppg. Last week was his worst game of the season, as he went 16/25 for 111 yards and one interception and resulted in being benched for P.J. Walker in his return to New York. This week, he gets a good matchup against the Falcons who are allowing 22.8 fppg to opposing QBs, but he is hard to trust after it appears that he has begun to see Ghost(s), Stories have it after his last couple of games.

Sit: Jameis Winston vs Buccaneers

Team Name: All I Do Is Win(ston) Win(ston) Win(ston)

Another week, another revenge game, as Jameis Winston gets his first crack as a starter against his old team. The Buccaneers are coming to town for a Halloween matchup in New Orleans. Winston has been hit or miss this season, with three games in the QB1 ballpark and three with finishes QB25 or worse. The Buccaneers have also been hit or miss against opponents, giving up some big fantasy points to top QBs, such as Dak Prescott (27.2), Matthew Stafford (29.5) and Jalen Hurts (25). But in their other four games, they have only given up an average of 12.3 fppg to opposing QBs. While Winston might be asked to throw more than he has to this point of the season, he will also likely give the Buccaneers The Gift of an interception or two.
