This Thursday Night Football matchup was one many fans circled, as it could be the best one of the year. However, following the Green Bay Packers’ COVID issues and J.J. Watt suffering a shoulder injury, the star power isn’t as bright as we hoped it would be. Still, it makes for an interesting game from an NFL betting perspective.

The following Packers vs Cardinals NFL betting preview will give you the current odds, betting trends and picks for the Week 8 matchup, along with a stream link to watch games all season long.

After the Week 1 embarrassment, the Packers’ offense has been rolling, leading the team to six straight victories. Unfortunately, Davante Adams tested positive for COVID and will likely be out for this game. The second wide receiver, Allen Lazard, will also be out due to COVID issues, as will defensive coordinator Joe Barry. They join a few other important pieces of this Green Bay squad that will be out due to injuries. Still, you cannot count Green Bay out of this game. Aaron Rodgers is absolute money in prime-time games, and losing the team’s top weapon forces this offense to become creative and unpredictable.

The Cardinals remain as the lone undefeated team, though it hasn’t gone without blemishes. They continue to play to their opponent’s level, whether it’s good or bad. Their biggest weakness as a team has been the run defense, allowing 5.0 yards per carry, which is the second-most in the NFL. Obviously, this is a bad weakness when facing the Packers, and losing Watt makes this hole even larger. Still, the offense is humming and can cover up for many defensive lapses, much like the Packers. This should be a fun one.
