Welcome to the Week 15 fantasy football Start or Sit! This is the most wonderful time of the year. That’s right, the Fantasy Football Playoffs! No more bye weeks to manage around now — it’s time to put together your best lineup each week to make this season pay off with a league championship.

This article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Cooper Kupp, Davante Adams or Justin Jefferson, you know what to do. Instead, we will look at fantasy football WRs on the fringe of WR2/Flex status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 15 WRs

Start: Van Jefferson vs. Seahawks

Team Name: In A Van Down By The River

Since Robert Woods went down with an injury and missed Week 10, Van Jefferson has been the WR17 in PPR, putting up 8.4, 18.3, 16.1 and 14.8 fantasy points in each game. Jefferson is riding a three-game touchdown streak as well, and with Odell Beckham Jr. likely out this week on the COVID list, he has a good shot at making it four. The matchup is tough against the Seahawks, who have held opposing WRs to 32.5 fantasy points per game (fppg). They did hold Jefferson to his lowest output of the season back in Week 5, when he had only one catch for 16 yards, but he was third in the pecking order for that game. If OBJ is out this week, fire up Jefferson as a WR2.

Start: Darnell Mooney

Team Name: More Mooney More Problems

In the last couple of games, Darnell Mooney has cooled off after a white-hot November where he was the WR3, behind only Cooper Kupp and Justin Jefferson. Since the calendar turned, he has put up 7.7, then 2.9 fantasy points last week. This week though, he gets the perfect get-right matchup against the Vikings secondary who are last in the league, giving up 43.2 fppg to opposing fantasy football WRs. Over the last four weeks, that has risen to 52.3 fppg. Look for Mooney to bounce back this week after a couple of slow weeks, as this matchup is too good to not hit at least WR2 numbers.

Sit: Michael Pittman Jr. vs. Patriots

Team Name: I Pitty the Fool

Much like the sit recommendation for Carson Wentz this week, Michael Pittman has a tough matchup against the Patriots who have allowed only 29.1 fppg to opposing WRs on the season. That number is down to 21.7 fppg over the past four weeks. While Pittman has been a fairly consistent option this season, he has struggled in the tougher matchups on the schedule. Against the other top-10 defenses in fantasy points allowed to WRs on the schedule (Seahawks and Bills) he finished with 5.9 and 4.3 fantasy points. Pittman is more of a WR3 this week in this matchup.

Sit: Terry McLaurin vs. Eagles

Team Name: Scary Terrys

Terry McLaurin left the game last week with a concussion and 0 fantasy points, so he is not a sure thing to even play this week. But assuming he does make it through the concussion protocol, he still is better off on your bench. McLaurin has been hit and miss this season, and largely miss, as he has had four WR1 weeks, one WR3 week and eight weeks not putting up starter-worthy points. This week, he has a matchup with the Eagles, who have allowed 28.8 fppg to opposing WRs on the season. If you have no better options this week, at least he has had three of his WR1 weeks in road games, so you have that going for you.
