Week 11 of the NFL season is here! That means, if your playoffs start in Week 15, there are four weeks left to solidify your ticket to make a championship run. This week, the NFL schedulers have decided to give us a little reprieve, as there are only two teams off this week — the Broncos and Rams. As a reminder, this article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Dalvin Cook, Christian McCaffrey or Jonathan Taylor, you know what to do. This article will look at fantasy football RBs on the fringe of RB2/Flex status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 11 RBs

Start: Myles Gaskin at Jets

Team Name: Running out of Gaskin

Myles Gaskin’s game log looks like a rollercoaster in odd weeks. Going back to Week 5, he has put up 31.9, 17.7 and 15.7 fantasy points per game (fppg), and in even week,s he has put up 3.4, 8.6 and 5.5 fppg. This being an odd week, he is set to hit value as an RB2. Also working in his favor is a matchup with the Jets, who are giving up 39.1 fppg to opposing RBs, which is eight fantasy football points more than the next worst team. They have given up 20 touchdowns to RBs on the year. Get him in your lineup this week.

Start: Patriots RB(s) at Falcons

Team Name: Rhamondre the Giant

As of this writing, Damien Harris has returned to practice but has yet to clear concussion protocol. With concussions, it is all or nothing, so if he clears protocol, he is good to go, then we will see how Bill Belichick divides up the work between Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. If Harris is out, Stevenson is set up for another heavy workload, similar to last week’s 24 touches. Should Harris return, the workload becomes murkier, but both set up as solid plays against the Falcons who are giving up 28.9 fppg to opposing RBs. If you are in a pinch without Darrell Henderson, Melvin Gordon or Javonte Williams, both Harris and Stevenson make solid plays this week.

Sit: Falcons RBs vs. Patriots

Team Name: That Takes Some Gall Man

On the other side of the ball, the Atlanta Falcons are dealing with their own injury to Cordarrelle Patterson, who is shaping up to be a game time decision. If he plays, you are starting him, but if he sits, that makes this the Wayne Gallman and Mike Davis show. Last week, in a game when Patterson left early, Gallman got 24 snaps and 15 carries, and Davis got 20 and four, as the Falcons got buried by the Cowboys. This looks like it will be a timeshare and, unless you are in an absolute pinch, you are best off keeping both Gallman and Davis on your bench this week.

Sit: Eagles RBs vs. Saints

Team Name: I Would Walk 500 Miles

It looks like Miles Sanders will be back this week, which means Jordan Howard and Boston Scott, and to a lesser extent Kenneth Gainwell, will all have to make do with less in addition to all being behind Jalen Hurts for carries as well. Now, add in a matchup against the Saints, who have only given up 483 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the year, and you have a matchup to avoid. However, this is a matchup to watch and see how the workload is split, because the Eagles do have a favorable schedule the rest of the way. This could be a situation to target a buy-low trade offer after this week.
