With the 2026 NFL Draft now behind us, fantasy owners now have a pretty good idea of what team rosters are going to look like for the upcoming season. Some moves have yet to be made, but for the most part, we have a fairly good indication of what teams’ depth charts will be looking like as well. As is the case every year, some running backs have gone up in value after the draft. Now could be the best time to make the move.
Here are three dynasty fantasy football trade targets at the running back position after the 2026 NFL Draft. We also have our Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings here!
RB Dynasty Fantasy Football Trade Targets 2026
Quinshon Judkins, Cleveland Browns
Unlike some of the other players that will show up on this list of dynasty fantasy football trade targets at RB, Quinshon Judkins will benefit the most from the moves made outside of the NFL Draft. While drafting some offensive linemen and talented receivers in the draft will make his job easier, it’s what the team did in free agency that is not getting picked up by the masses, as it should.
The Cleveland Browns went into this offseason needing to fix what was a pathetically poor offensive line. They solved that problem in free agency alone, signing two-time Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins along with Zion Johnson and Tytus Howard. The offensive line was certainly the weak point for the Browns last season, and they will suddenly roll into the 2026 season with one of the better units in the entire NFL.
Quinshon Judkins looked really good last year, as it was. Now, given a much better line and more playmakers that will take all eyes off him, his fantasy value will only continue to increase heading into the 2026 season.
David Montgomery, Houston Texans
For a season that went incredibly well for the Houston Texans, there was one part of the season that was a nightmare, which was the running back position. An odd and questionable injury to Joe Mixon kept him out for the entire season, putting the backfield in the hands of Woody Marks and Nick Chubb. Neither could find much success, as Marks led the team with just 703 rushing yards on the season.
This year, the Houston Texans completely gave up on Joe Mixon by releasing him and acquired David Montgomery from the Detroit Lions for Juice Scruggs and a fourth and seventh-round draft pick. The news was big at the time, but it has fallen by the wayside recently, with the NFL Draft taking the spotlight as it always does. It’s important to remember Montgomery is the clear first choice at running back in Houston, as they will be in the lead and running the ball in plenty of games this year.
The Texans have a decent offensive line that they invested in this offseason, and the team didn’t add a running back with the intent of challenging Montgomery for the top spot. With Marks’ disappointing season last year, it would appear the backfield is all Montgomery now, and for some reason, nobody is talking about it.
Bhayshul Tuten, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars may not have had a first-round pick this year, but they did still have 10 picks in total, with four coming in the second and third rounds. While they did fill many needs, they did not fill one position of need that left some fans surprised at the running back position. After going 13-4 last year, the Jaguars lost their leading rusher, Travis Etienne, to the New Orleans Saints in free agency. Etienne led the team with over 1,100 yards. Outside of quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the next highest rusher was Bhayshul Tuten, who totaled just over 300 yards on 83 carries. After Tuten, only LeQuint Allen had more than 10 carries.
Jacksonville’s lack of interest in replacing Etienne is certainly interesting. While they did sign Chris Rodriguez Jr., it would appear the bulk of Etienne’s workload will fall to Tuten. Even if they go with a backfield by committee, it would be Tuten who would be the first option in that system. With the Jaguars still having a talented team that will win more than their fair share of games, Tuten should get plenty of work this season, which makes him a great dynasty fantasy football trade target who is flying under the radar.
