With OTAs well underway, the 2026 NFL season is finally starting to appear on the horizon. Every year there are plenty of players who see their values fluctuate wildly that are important to keep up on if you play dynasty fantasy football. We continue to get news on how new free agents and rookies will fare on their new teams.
With the draft behind us and sort of a lull in the dynasty fantasy football season, it’s important to strike while the iron is hot (or cold) on the trade block. In situations like San Francisco, Tennessee and Minnesota, now may be the time to buy quarterbacks who could help your team and see their value skyrocket this season.
With that being said, let’s take a look at three dynasty fantasy football buy low trade targets at the quarterback position who are acquiring right now.
Dynasty Fantasy Football Buy Low Trade Targets at QB
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Outside of a Week 18 game against the Seattle Seahawks, Brock Purdy was the hottest player in fantasy football down the stretch. From Weeks 15-17, Purdy threw for 893 yards, 11 touchdowns, two interceptions and two rushing touchdowns. Unfortunately for Purdy, as was the case in 2024, he struggled with injuries which is part of the reason why his dynasty fantasy football value is so low at the moment.
Questions have been asked this offseason about the moves that the 49ers made in the NFL Draft and free agency. While their skill players are not the most talented group historically, they still have some really good options in George Kittle, Mike Evans, Christian McCaffrey and rookie De’Zhaun Stribling. Although Stribling was admittedly drafted much earlier than he likely should’ve been, he still has all the physical tools that are needed to be a playmaker in the NFL.
Purdy has always been a reliable quarterback for fantasy purposes. As long as he can stay on the field, he should continue to return solid QB2 value. With all of the offseason talk being negative about San Francisco and with Purdy having yet another season set back by an injury, now is the perfect time to try and buy him low in trades.
Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Before the 2025 NFL Draft, the Titans organization said that they would draft a “generational talent” with the first overall pick. Unfortunately, they did not decide to give that “generational talent” a lick of talent around him leading to one of the uglier rookie seasons by a first round pick in recent memory. While Cam Ward struggled out the gate, he found his stride late in the season which is impressive seeing how little help he had on his team. Ward finished as QB22 last year but all the signs point to a sizable step forward in 2026.
For starters, the Titans finally got him a true top target in Ohio State product Carnell Tate. The team also signed Wan’Dale Robinson who is one of the more underrated and solid receivers in the league. The biggest change coming for Ward was the hiring of new head coach Robert Saleh. Although his tenure with the New York Jets didn’t go as planned, he at least brought some stability to a franchise that had none for over a decade before him and looked much worse after they fired him last season.
Salah is a defensive mind, but he’s now paired with one of the more underrated defensive units in the league. With their improved defense, Cam Ward and the improved offense should have a much easier time moving the ball. With true talent finally surrounding him and a year under his belt, Ward should be able to continue on the upward trend in improvement he showed at the tail end of 2025. Ward is far from QB1 status, but he’s a really good bet to capture QB2 value for a fraction of the price making him a great dynasty fantasy football buy.
Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings
If there is one thing JJ McCarthy is good at, it’s making awful decisions on and off the field so far in his NFL career. After a horrific rookie season after sitting out the first year due to injury, his comments to the media about Kyler Murray and their relationship make him sound more like a petulant man-child than even a backup NFL quarterback. He continues to shoot himself in the foot every chance he gets and has also reportedly been performing poorly in OTA’s. Although Kyler Murray hasn’t always been the perfect professional or quarterback in his own right, but he’s much better than McCarthy.
If head coach Kevin O’Connell really believed in McCarthy, he wouldn’t have brought Murray in for competition. More importantly, it’s crucial to realize that the main obstacle to Murray producing in dynasty fantasy football is his health. In his seven seasons in the NFL, Murray has been able to be on the field for 14 or more games just four times, with only one of those seasons coming in the past four years. In those four years he started 14 or more games, he finished as QB10 or better every single time.
One of the reasons Murray has durability issues is thanks to the way he plays. Another big reason stems from the fact that he’s been on some pretty terrible Arizona Cardinals teams as of late and has had to act like Superman at all times in a stacked NFC West division. Not only are the reports out of OTA’s stating that he is picking up the Vikings’ offense quickly, but he’s also now paired with one of the best QB coaches in the NFL. Remember, O’Connell made Joshua Dobbs look good when they signed him off the street in 2023. Finally surrounded by talent and a competent offensive coach, the sky is the limit for Murray.
