When is the 2025 NFL Draft?
The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The draft will take place in Green Bay, WI, which brings plenty of potential challenges. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 25th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 26th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.

Strengths
Cam Ward is a multi-talented quarterback, giving his future offensive coordinator a full playbook to work with. He can make any throw on the field. Ward can also hit those throws off-platform and using multiple arm angles. His anticipation at the college level has improved greatly, which should translate to the pro game.
While Ward isn’t a “mobile quarterback,” he does have the mobility to keep plays alive. He is slippery in the pocket, and he can move the chains with his legs if need be. In any way necessary, Ward appears capable of making the play.
Weaknesses
Due to being the best player on the field for the majority of his college career, Cam Ward got away with playing recklessly. At times, he tries to “will” a play into happening instead of using fundamentals and trusting the system. You will hear many say Ward plays too much “hero ball.”
Ward is also not athletic enough to play recklessly as he does. He will keep plays alive too long, not tuck the ball on some runs, and try to fit the football through a pinhole. Though immensely talented, Ward will need a solid quarterback coach who can not only teach him to play like a pro but also keep him level-headed when rookie mistakes inevitably happen.
