Cleveland Browns Preview

The Browns thoroughly dominated the Chicago Bears last week to earn their second straight win. One need not look any further than the total yards section of the box score for an idea of how the game went. Cleveland finished with 418 yards compared to just 47 for the Bears. While the win was certainly impressive, the incompetence of Chicago’s offense makes it tough to tell how much we actually learned about this Browns team in what was an easy NFL betting win.

It was a big day on the fantasy football front for Kareem Hunt. He finished with 155 total yards on 16 touches and also scored a rushing touchdown. Odell Beckham Jr. paced all Browns pass-catchers with 77 receiving yards in his return from injury. Hunt and Nick Chubb teamed to rush for over 160 yards, while Baker Mayfield was steady under center in the win. Cleveland’s menacing defensive front wreaked havoc on an overmatched Bears’ offensive line. Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney combined for a whopping 6.5 sacks.

Minnesota Vikings Preview

After suffering a brutal loss in Week 2, the Vikings rebounded on their home field last Sunday. Kirk Cousins was phenomenal for the third straight game to begin the season. His 323 passing yards and three touchdowns keyed Minnesota’s double-digit win over the Seattle Seahawks. Running back Alexander Mattison also had a big game with 112 yards on the ground filling in for the injured Dalvin Cook. Justin Jefferson went over 100 yards receiving and was one of three Vikings pass-catchers to find the end zone in the win.

Through three weeks, the Vikings’ offense has been extremely impressive overall. Unfortunately, they will need to continue playing well in order to overcome a weak defensive secondary. Minnesota ranks just 25th in adjusted defensive efficiency through three games. Like last year’s defense, Mike Zimmer has his hands full again this season. They’ll be challenged by one of the best rushing attacks in the league in this Sunday’s NFL betting matchup.
