The Cleveland Browns have had quite the offseason. The city itself was the host of the 2021 NFL Draft. During the draft, they picked up multiple good young players, including Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Greg Newsome II. Finally, there was the recent announcement of the alternate Cleveland Browns uniforms.

Early this morning the Browns unveiled their new “75th Anniversary” Uniforms.” This news comes less than 24 hours after the announcement that the former “Cleveland Indians” were officially changing their name to the Guardians.

Alternate Cleveland Browns Uniforms to be Worn Three Times

NFL rules will allow the Browns to wear these special jerseys three times this season. The team will share throughout the season when and versus whom the Browns will rock the uniforms against.

The new Browns jerseys pay homage to the team’s 1946 inaugural season, with a white jersey that has brown numbers with an orange outline. Also, the helmet design that has a white stripe with the player’s number on each side. That is the same stripe the team wore on their helmets between 1952-59. That is when the team won two of their four NFL championships. The gray face mask is the same color as the one worn 1961-74 and 2006-14.

The Browns have used the words “clean, iconic and traditional” to describe the uniforms. Albert Breer even tweeted his approval, citing how the Browns messed up the 2015 uniforms.

Overall, they are a nice addition to the ones the Browns debuted last year. The brown numbers with the orange out-line on top of the clean white look is well-done, in my opinion.
