NFL Picks, NFL Odds & NFL Props: Thursday Night Football

Broncos vs Jets Game Info

Denver Broncos (0-2, 0-1 Away) vs. New York Jets (0-2, 0-1 Home)
Date: Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020
Time: 8:20 p.m. EST
Venue: MetLife Stadium — East Rutherford, NJ
Coverage: NFL Network

The Broncos have taken a big hit with injuries. They lost Von Miller before the season began. As of now, 26.9 percent of their salary cap is on IR, with AJ Bouye, Jurrell Casey, Courtland Sutton and more joining Miller. On top of that, quarterback Drew Lock is out and running back Phillip Lindsay is questionable.

Denver has named Brett Rypien the starting quarterback, and the former Boise State passer will be taking his first NFL snaps. Rypien is not a mobile player, and he completed 64 percent of his passes in college. By no means is he expected to blow us away on TNF, but he does get a solid matchup with the Jets.

The Jets have also been hit by injuries. In fact, there’s only two wide receivers on the depth chart without an injury designation for the game. On top of that, Le’Veon Bell is obviously still out, meaning the ageless wonder Frank Gore will continue to be the lead back. The Jets have been the embarrassment of the NFL through three weeks, sporting a league-worst minus-57 point differential.

Despite all of this, the line has moved in the Jets’ favor. The Broncos were favored by three points earlier in the week, but the NFL odds now view this game as an even pick’em.

Monkey Knife Fight NFL Props

Monkey Knife Fight is a DFS site unlike DraftKings or FanDuel. Instead, the contests feature props to play, with varying multipliers for each contest. Unlike the aforementioned sites, you are only competing with yourself on MKF, and you do not need to worry about annoying salary caps.

They have many great NFL props for the Broncos vs Jets TNF matchup, but this is one of my favorites.

The Broncos are hurting on the defensive side of the ball and could really struggle to get consistent pressure. Time to throw could mean a nice performance for Sam Darnold, and he also gets his favorite target in Jamison Crowder back. Should Darnold have success as expected, the Broncos will need to pass more often, and Brett Rypien should be able to total at least 208 yards against a bad defense.
