One of the wildest MLB Postseason series in recent memory got even wilder on Tuesday. Just when it looked like the Atlanta Braves were going to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers staged a furious eighth-inning rally. With two walk-offs and an eighth-inning comeback, this NLCS has been proof that the game is never over until it’s over! The MLB betting odds are extremely lopsided towards the home team ahead of tonight’s Braves vs Dodgers Game 4 matchup.

This MLB betting preview for Braves vs Dodgers NLCS Game 4 includes game info, projected starting pitchers, betting odds, trends and a prediction for tonight’s postseason matchup.

Atlanta Braves Preview

Through 7.5 innings, the Braves had everything working in their favor. They withstood the Dodgers’ first-inning offense for the second straight game, answering the two-run frame with four of their own in the fourth. Atlanta tacked on an additional run in the fifth and was six outs away from taking a firm stranglehold on the NLCS despite being large MLB betting underdogs. Then the bottom of the eighth happened. Luke Jackson has been a reliable reliever out of the pen for Brian Snitker all season. That wasn’t the case on Tuesday. Operating in his typical setup role, Jackson allowed four runs on four hits and recorded only a single out, blowing the lead and the game. The Braves will need him again in this series, so it is paramount that Jackson shakes it off and looks forward instead of back.

As mentioned in yesterday’s Braves vs Dodgers MLB betting preview, it was only a matter of time before Freddie Freeman found his swing. Sure enough, the reigning NL MVP had three hits and reached base a fourth time via a walk on Tuesday. Joc Pederson and Adam Duvall also each had a pair of hits and combined to drive in three of the Braves’ five runs. Starter Charlie Morton was solid over five innings of work. However, Snitker has a tough call to make when it comes to his starting pitcher for Game 4 tonight. While left-hander Max Fried is an option on short rest, the Braves will likely want to save him for Game 5. Expect either Drew Smyly or Huascar Ynoa to start with the bullpen getting involved early and often.

Los Angeles Dodgers Preview

After a regular season to forget at the plate, Cody Bellinger came through in the clutch for the second time this postseason on Tuesday. Just when it looked like the Dodgers were going to go down 0-3 in this MLB betting series, Bellinger’s three-run homer in the eighth tied things up at five. Mookie Betts followed with an RBI double to put L.A. ahead for good. Both Will Smith and A.J. Pollack came around to score on Bellinger’s homer. Those two have been among the most consistent hitters for the Dodgers during the playoffs thus far. Smith, Betts and Chris Taylor, who scored the go-ahead run, all had two hits apiece in Game 3.

After seeing both of his aces, Max Scherzer and Walker Buehler, fail to last a full five innings, manager Dave Roberts will now turn to left-hander Julio Urias as his Game 4 starter tonight. Urias has electric stuff and won 20 games on the season while striking out 195 and posting a 1.02 WHIP. He came up big as the “bulk pitcher” in the win-or-go-home NLDS Game 5 against the San Francisco Giants. That said, the Braves roughed Urais up in a relief appearance back in Game 2 of this NLCS on Sunday. He only lasted an inning, allowing two runs on three hits.
