Best NBA Betting Player Props for Tonight, 3/30

All NBA betting player props odds are taken from BetOnline Sportsbook

Lauri Markkanen Under 6.5 Rebounds (-108)

No one can deny the fact that Lauri Markkanen has been quite consistent this season for the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his first season with the team, the 24-year-old has averaged 5.6 rebounds per game. Considering how deep the Cavs’ frontcourt was for the majority of the season, it’s impressive to see Markkanen provide such stable production.

Recently, however, his rebounding totals have seen a great deal of fluctuation. In fact, Markkanen has alternated stat lines of 9+ boards with five or fewer in each of his last nine games played. Considering that Markkanen only corralled three rebounds in Monday’s contest, the recent trend would suggest a big game on the glass is in store tonight. The fact that rookie Evan Mobley will miss this evening’s clash against the Dallas Mavericks after twisting his ankle two nights ago further supports this theory.

Despite these things, Markkanen’s sporadic rebounding production is not exactly ideal for betting NBA picks to the over. Furthermore, tonight’s NBA player props total of 6.5 boards is nearly one full rebound above his per-game average for the full season. It’s also not like Markkanen is the only big man left standing for the Cavs. Kevin Love is good to go tonight and Moses Brown figures to assume increased playing time at the center position.

Gary Trent Jr. Over 15.5 Points (-126)

Upon making his return Monday from a three-game absence due to a hyperextended left big toe (WTF!), Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. struggled to just 12 points in 37 minutes of action. The key point to emphasize here is that it was merely his first game back in action. Although Trent has displayed a tendency to be a streaky scorer, the good nights tend to outweigh the bad. Look no further than his 18.0 points per game average for proof.

The fact that tonight’s NBA player props total of 15.5 sits a full 2.5 points below Trent’s season scoring average should be enough to raise an eyebrow by itself. With a game back under his belt, it seems reasonable to expect Trent to shoot closer to his 40.6% average than the 33% he shot from the field on Monday.

It’s also worth noting that Monday’s game against Boston, one of the best defensive teams in the league. As for tonight’s opponent, the Minnesota Timberwolves are merely average in terms of defensive efficiency. With the Raptors nearly at full strength, the Wolves also won’t be able to key in on Trent defensively. Add it all up and we’ll gladly include this over prediction in tonight’s NBA betting picks portfolio.

Jordan Poole Under 24.5 Points (-117)

As a result of Stephen Curry being sidelined with an injury, Jordan Poole has been thrust into the spotlight as the Golden State Warriors’ primary offensive weapon. To say that the 22-year-old has delivered in his enlarged role would be an understatement. Poole has been a solid scorer for the Dubs all season long, but his talent has only been magnified recently in the absence of Curry.

Since March 1st, Poole has scored 20+ points in every single game the Warriors have played. That is a stretch of 14 straight contests. His NBA player props totals have become inflated as a result. With 24+ points scored in each of the last seven games, Poole has shown an ability to continue meeting the heightened NBA props bars.

Tonight could breed a different result, however. First of all, Poole’s NBA picks scoring total has increased even more to now sit at 25.5. Second, the Warriors face the best team in the Association tonight. From a matchup standpoint, all players must be downgraded when facing the Phoenix Suns, and Poole is no exception to this. Entering Wednesday’s game, the Suns rank third in defensive efficiency allowing only 104.4 points per 100 possessions. Considering how Phoenix clamped down on Curry in matchups earlier in the season, Poole could be in for a long night.
