It hasn’t been the most action-packed week for the Philadelphia Eagles. Especially compared to the major draft trade they made weeks ago. Most likely, the Eagles front office is laser-focused on the 2021 NFL Draft. That being said, there were some moves made that have some interesting implications on the season to come.  Eagles Sign LB Eric Wilson The Eagles signed former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson to a one-year deal worth $3.25 million on Tuesday. Wilson was a solid contributor for the Vikings last season, totaling 87 solo tackles, four sacks and had three interceptions, which was tied for…

The Philadelphia Eagles have been looking for another QB to pair with Jalen Hurts. They haven’t made many moves this offseason, but this is one they had to make. They chose to sign Joe Flacco to a one year, $3.5 million guaranteed deal, which can go up to four million. The money on the deal is a little surprising. Flacco only received $1.5 million from the Jets last year and didn’t exactly light the world on fire there. He completed just 55% of his passes, and although his TD:INT ratio of 6:3 wasn’t bad, he also only threw for 172…

It’s a quiet offseason no longer. While most Philadelphians have been debating between Ja’Maar Chase and Kyle Pitts, the Philadelphia guys that actually matter had very different plans for the 2021 NFL Draft. Moments after the Miami Dolphins traded the No. 3 pick away to the San Francisco 49ers for their 12th pick, the Dolphins moved back up to No. 6 by trading with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles traded No. 6 and No. 156 draft picks for No. 12 and 123 picks, and a 2022 first-rounder. It’s a big trade that really throws a wrench into any Eagles draft…

NFL Free Agency is in full swing, and many teams have made many moves. One team that has been quiet, however, is the Philadelphia Eagles. Then again, this shouldn’t really be a surprise. The Eagles cap situation was pretty dire, even after the restructures. The team is more on the sell and rebuild side versus the buy and compete side. That doesn’t mean that the Eagles haven’t made any moves, but most of them are in search of further cap relief. Eagles Releases As predicted, 31-year-old wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was released. He hardly played the last two years, and…

Howie Roseman might get a lot of criticism, especially recently, but there is one thing he is definitely good at, and that is managing the Eagles cap space. Or you could say he’s simply digging the Philadelphia Eagles out of the hole he himself made, but hey, let’s be positive. To that end, a couple of key contracts have been restructured. Jason Kelce got a new deal and Darius Slay was also announced to have restructured his. In addition, two more players, Brandon Graham and Lane Johnson, are reportedly working on restructured deals. Finally, punter Cam Johnston is not expected…

Now that Carson Wentz has finally moved, I suppose it makes sense to also move on from his favorite target. Of course, that’s not the only reason that the Philadelphia Eagles may want to pull a Zach Ertz trade. He’s on the last year of his deal, he wasn’t effective last year and moving him would save the Eagles money. Plus, they have his natural replacement already on the roster in Dallas Goedert. With all those reasons in mind, many sources are reporting that the Eagles are trying to deal Ertz. According to Mike Silver, multiple teams are also interested…

It’s no secret that Jason Kelce has been flirting with retirement for awhile now. With the Philadelphia Eagles in flux and most likely not competing for a championship soon, it wouldn’t have shocked anyone to see the 33-year-old hanging it up. Especially since the All-Pro center just had his second child, a daughter! However, to the delight of Birds fans everywhere, Kelce himself announced on instagram he’s coming back for 2021. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jason Kelce (@jason.kelce) While Kelce’s size is not typical of a center, his speed and athleticism have been a cornerstone…

DeSean Jackson was released by the Philadelphia Eagles on February 19th, closing the page on Jackson’s second, and one must assume final, stint with the team that drafted him. His second go with the Eagles was kind of similar to his career overall. Highlight plays, injuries and some controversial moments both on and off the field. It didn’t go the way anybody wanted, but it doesn’t take away from the legendary career Jackson had in the midnight green. Many might consider legend a strong word to use for Jackson, but I think it is appropriate. He leaves the Eagles third…
