After narrowly missing the chance of becoming undisputed champion last year against Katie Taylor, this fight is another opportunity for the seven-division champion Amanda Serrano to become the undisputed world champion before a re-match against the Irish in May.

It’s worth mentioning that another undisputed title bout is on the card other than the fight between Amanda Serrano, who holds the WBC, WBO, and IBF belts, and Erika Cruz, who has the WBA featherweight belt, as Alycia Baumgardner will take on Elhem Mekhaled for the undisputed super-featherweight title, making this card a cracking one.

If we are honest, Amanda Serrano will enter the ring as a hot favorite. She will become the first Puerto Rico boxer to become an undisputed champion if she takes the WBA title away from Erika Cruz.

And it’s at the weight divisions where I feel my best; I’m comfortable; it’s my division.”

Talking about her Mexican opponent, she said:

“Erika Cruz is a Mexican champion, she’s going to come, and I’m coming guns blazing, so it’s going to be punches and bunches, and it’s going to be a fantastic night.

Insisting the fight would be a great one, she said:

Meanwhile, her Mexican opponent Erika Cruz also expressed his thoughts regarding the fight:

“To be honest, we’re not focused in any way on what people will say. We ignore what’s said on social media. I’m just completely focused on my team. As soon as we knew the date was to be scheduled, I knew I was facing Amanda Serrano; there were no distractions. I’m just really delighted with God. I also have to thank my father, who is always with me at every moment. On Saturday night, it will be a historic moment for Mexico.”
