NFL Survivor Pool Picks for Week 14 – Pittsburgh Steelers

If you are unaware of what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 14 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.

If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick of the week.”

The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup. It may be worth it to look at the NFL betting odds for these games and place some bets as well.

Lock of the Week | Best Pick for NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 14

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers open Week 14 as 6.5-point favorites over divisional rival Cleveland Browns. This comes on the back of 44-38 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in a game where Pittsburgh’s offense looked unstoppable. With Russell Wilson playing pretty good football as of late, the Steelers get a good matchup against the Browns who have not been great against the pass this season. They have given up 2,847 passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season. The Browns have also struggled against the run this season as well, giving up 1,543 rushing yards this season. On top of that, they have given up 17 touchdowns on the ground this season.

Even though the Browns beat the Steelers just two weeks ago, I think that this game is much different. First, the game is in Pittsburgh, which is one of the hardest places to play in the NFL. Add to the fact that Jameis Winston is at odds with God about throwing pick-sixes, and I think that the Browns get stifled by the Steelers’ defense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, like the Pittsburgh Steelers, open the week as 6.5-point favorites over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Buccaneers are coming off an overtime victory over the Carolina Panthers. In the midst of a divisional battle with the Atlanta Falcons, every win is important for the Buccaneers. Going against the Las Vegas Raiders this week, this is a must-not-lose game for the Bucs.

Luckily for them, rookie running back Bucky Irving, as well as the offensive line, has been playing great this season. Tampa needs the run game to get going for Baker Mayfield to work his magic in the play-action game. The Raiders have given up 21 passing touchdowns this season. That makes me think Mike Evans is a difference-maker in this game. Going to Evans often is going to get the Buccaneers a win in this game. This is a no-brainer, take the better team in this game, which of course is the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

I think that the Tennessee Titans are not getting much respect right now. This may be warranted, but against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who in my mind are the worst team in the NFL, I think that they are better than 3.5-point favorites. With Mac Jones starting for the Jaguars, it is hard to believe that Jacksonville’s offense is going to do much of anything. With how bad the run game has been this season, I am not worried about Jacksonville’s offense at all. With how good the Titans’ defense has been this year, I think they can win a game solely from their defense.

Luckily, the Jaguars’ defense has been really bad. I think Will Levis is in store for a big week. The Jaguars have given the second-most passing yards this season to opposing quarterbacks at 3,434. With how good Calvin Ridley is and how many touchdowns Nick Westbrook-Ikhine scores the Titans should easily win this game.
