I would like to preface this by saying I am a Colgate Graduate. I will be at this game, and I will be betting on the Raiders. But biases aside, I think the Raiders are live underdogs in this game. The biggest mismatch is in how each team shoots the basketball. Wisconsin is 259th in the nation in effective field goal percentage while Colgate ranks 11th.
Colgate is also red hot, as they’ve won 15 straight games and steamrolled through the Patriot League Tournament. Over the last three games, they lead all of Division I basketball in effective field goal percentage, sitting at 66.6%, per team rankings.
Wisconsin has also tapered off of late. They’ve lost their last two games, one at home to Nebraska (the worst team in the Big Ten) and their first game of the Big Ten Tournament against Michigan State.
