3 Things the New York Giants Need to do this Offseason

The New York Giants joined their fellow Metlife Stadium team in missing the NFL Playoffs. They haven’t seen the postseason life since 2016. Odell Beckham Jr. posted that picture of the Giants on the boat and they haven’t been the same since.

Joe Judge has been fired after two seasons at the helm, and Dave Gettleman retired from being the Giants GM. They are replaced by Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen, respectively. Those two will have some work to do on the roster this offseason.

3 Things the New York Giants Need to do this Offseason

    1. Get Under the Cap

Currently, the New York Giants are over the cap by $10 million. Not ideal for a team that was as bad as the Giants were last season. Many guys will need their contracts restructured if they want to avoid dead cap.

    2. Use the Draft

The Giants have two picks in the top seven (five and seven). They need to use them and help the offensive line and the defense. The line has not helped out Daniel Jones or Saquon Barkley, as both have had any talents they had to go to waste in the past few years. The defense was surprisingly the better of the two sides of the ball last year, as they were ranked 23rd in points allowed. Why not continue to make that defense better and make it a force to help your offense out?

    3. Figure Out how to Keep Players Healthy

Many of their offensive players missed time last year. Saquon Barkley has missed a lot of time in the past two seasons, making him pretty injury-prone. The Giants also had Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, and Jones miss time with injuries. Anyone who knows football knows that is not good. The Giants have to find a new training staff or something to keep the injuries from happening.
