After a week in which six NFL teams were on bye, only two teams will be inactive in Week 8. That being said, those two teams both are home to weekly fantasy football starters at the TE position. As a result, there will be plenty of managers hitting the free-agent market in search of a competent fantasy football streamers option. Lucky for you, this column has got you covered!

Read on for three fantasy football streamers at tight end for Week 8 of the NFL season. At the end of the column, readers will also find lists containing the starting tight ends on bye this week as well as a few players who might be worth fading in difficult matchups.

Ricky Seals-Jones | Washington Football Team (at DEN)

    Current Ownership: 49.0%

Hey, if opposing managers are going to allow us to feature the same player as a TE streamer three weeks in a row, we’ll take it. It sure helps make life easy! All Ricky Seals-Jones has done since Logan Thomas went down with an injury is produce. We pegged him as an immediate fantasy football streamers candidate ahead of Week 6 given the fact that Thomas had been playing nearly 100% of Washington’s offensive snaps as the starter in prior weeks. Seals-Jones has taken over that same role in each of the past two games. This past week, he proved that his fantasy production does not depend on him finding the end zone. Seals-Jones hauled in six of seven targets for 51 yards, finishing with 11.1 PPR points in Week 7.

If there is one concern about streaming Seals-Jones this coming Sunday, it is the matchup. While the Denver Broncos defense is clearly not as advertised, they have been fairly stout against the tight end position. Opposing TEs have only averaged 6.4 fantasy points per game against the Broncos, tied for the sixth-fewest in the NFL. That being said, few of the Broncos’ opponents to date feature the tight end in their respective offenses as frequently as Washington. Despite his production in each of the past two weeks, Seals-Jones remains available in over half of leagues.

Evan Engram | New York Giants (at KC)

    Current Ownership: 23.7%

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Once a highly sought-after fantasy football tight end, Evan Engram is now owned in less than a quarter of leagues heading into Week 8. After missing the Giants’ first two games with an injury, Engram has had a minimal impact since returning. He did manage to notch double-digit fantasy points for the first time this season last Sunday. Engram was the Giants’ most targeted pass-catcher, catching in six of eight balls thrown his way for 44 yards. While the 10.4 PPR points weren’t bad, it still was far less than what his target share should have yielded.

Recommending Engram as a fantasy football streamers candidate for Week 8 is solely based on the matchup. The Giants will hit the road to face the atrocious Kansas City Chiefs defense on Monday night. The Chiefs have surrendered nearly 14 fantasy points per game to opposing TEs, the seventh-most of any defense in the league. Given the fact that the Giants’ receiving corps remains decimated by injuries, one has to believe that Engram will have a substantial role in the offense again this week. Perhaps this extremely favorable matchup will allow him to finally live up to previous fantasy expectations.

C.J. Uzomah | Cincinnati Bengals (at BAL)

    Current Ownership: 19.6%

For the second time this season, C.J. Uzomah finished as the TE1 in PPR leagues last week. Making it even better was the fact that he was featured in this very column as a fantasy football streamers play. Admittedly, both of Uzomah’s outbursts this season have largely been thanks to touchdowns. Two of his three receptions last Sunday went for scores, powering him to 24.1 fantasy points on the day. With so many mouths to feed in the Cincinnati offense, it is difficult to count on Joe Burrow targeting Uzomah enough to provide a stable fantasy floor week-to-week. However, the Bengals’ Week 8 matchup could prove very fruitful for their tight end.

Sunday sees Cincinnati hit the road once again to take on the struggling New York Jets. Despite their poor record and rest-of-season forecast, the Jets have actually been quite stingy against opposing wide receivers in fantasy football. They enter Week 8 surrendering the fewest PPR points per game to the WR position. However, New York is also allowing 12.6 fantasy points per game to opposing TEs, the ninth most in the NFL. Just last week, we saw both Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith make an impact for the New England Patriots against this defense. With the Jets’ bound to focus on Ja’Marr Chase, Uzomah is once again an under-the-radar play this week.
