If not for Rudy Gobert blocking Marcus Morris’ game-tying attempt, we could be having a very different conversation today. The Jazz were largely led by Donovan Mitchell once again. Mitchell went for 45 points in the victory. He also collected five assists.
For the Clippers, they need to be taken a little more seriously. They were close to winning the game, despite Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combining for 43 points on 13-36 shooting from the field. Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of this game was the decision the Clippers made to not start Ivica Zubac against Rudy Gobert. The Clippers believed they could cause matchup problems for the Utah Jazz by playing small-ball. The strategy nearly worked, but it does potentially limit their ability to grab offensive rebounds.
