Manchester United vs Crystal Palace Background

Manchester United: The Red Devils come into this match after an ugly 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. United only had 42% of possession at Stamford Bridge. Referee Stuart Atwell denied a late penalty to Manchester United after a kick bounced off the outstretched arm of a Chelsea player. However, the team must move on and focus on the task at hand. Since signing with United last year, Bruno Fernandes has been tremendous. In 40 appearances for United, he has 40 goal involvements. It will be interesting to see the lineup Ole Gunnar Solkjaer puts on the field this afternoon. Sitting 15 points behind league leading Manchester City in second place, this is a must win for the Reds at Sellhurst Park.

Crystal Palace: Early on in the season, Crystal Palace looked like a team that would be regulated come late spring, early summer. However, Palace have played well recently. With a third of the season left, it’s safe to say Crystal Palace can make plans for top flight football in 2021-2022. Wilfried Zaha is set to return for this match, which should be great news for Palace followers. He should provide a spark for the Palace attack.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Manchester United 3, Crystal Palace 1: Everyone will be watching referee Andre Marriner very closely. After the match vs Chelsea, left-back Luke Shaw alleged that he heard referee Stuart Atwell tell skipper Harry Maguire he would not be awarding a penalty to United after a possible hand-ball on Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi, because of the “talk” that it would cause. However, as I said, it’s time to move on and focus on the task at hand. Bruno Fernandes slots home an early penalty, before Palace tie it up before half on a Zaha goal. Rashford scores a brace in the second half as the Reds get a big win at Sellhurst Park.
