As always, the tight end position is one of the tougher positions to judge in fantasy football. If you were a Dallas Goedert owner or are concerned with the bad play of Mark Andrews, Brenton Strange or Tucker Kraft, you may be looking to stream a tight end this week. To be honest, if you aren’t a Trey McBride, Brock Bowers, George Kittle or Travis Kelce owner, it is hard to have full trust in your tight end position right now, so you are probably looking at something better.
Fear not, though, as I have three Week 4 fantasy football TE streamers to get the leg up on your competition. We have highlighted all of the top fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 4, but that’s not necessarily the list of the best players to add and start this weekend.

Fantasy Football Week 4 TE Streamers
Darren Waller, Panthers vs DET (10.4% owned)
Through three weeks this season, it appears to be a little bit of a career revival for Darren Waller in Carolina. In three games, Waller has totaled 112 yards and two touchdowns. While those numbers don’t seem huge, an opportunity has opened for him in the pecking order. Against Cleveland last week, Jalen Coker went down with a quad injury. Coker has a chance to play this week, but on the field or not, it may not matter for anyone looking for a tight end this week.
The Carolina Panthers take on the Detroit Lions in Week 4. The Lions have been horrible against opposing tight ends this season. Through three weeks, the tight end position is averaging an astounding 33.4 fantasy points per game against the Lions (most in the NFL). Much of that can be chalked up to injuries in the secondary, which bodes well for someone like Darren Waller, who can use his size and athleticism to work the middle of the field. With Coker banged up and Carolina playing a suspect defense, Waller should be streamed by anyone looking for a tight end this week.
Juwan Johnson, Saints vs ATL (55.2% owned)
For whatever reason, we are going through another NFL season where almost half of fantasy managers are overlooking Juwan Johnson. The Saints tight end currently ranks as TE3. With Jordyn Tyson out and Chris Olave working the deep part of the field, Juwan Johnson is the go-to easy completion in the middle of the field for Tyler Shough. Johnson is also dominating in the red zone, scoring three touchdowns this season, including two last week.
The matchup against the Atlanta Falcons plays right into Johnson’s hands as well this week. Not as bad as the Lions, but the Atlanta Falcons have been poor against opposing tight ends this season. The Falcons are giving up an average of 14.2 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season. Tyler Shough is looking like one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL this season, and with how well the Falcons played the run last week against Green Bay, the passing game is going to be at the forefront this week for New Orleans.
Chig Okonkwo, Commanders vs IND (4.2% owned)
If you have been following me over my time at FlurrySports, you know how against Chig Okonkwo I have been. With that being said, he appears to be a great streaming option this week, coming off of an injury, if he plays. While Jayden Daniels having his elbow turned backwards seems like it would be a major issue for the Commanders, they got their first win of the season with Marcus Mariota starting this week.
This week, the Commanders take on the Indianapolis Colts, who have been fairly poor against the tight end position this season. The Colts are giving up an average of 21.4 fantasy points per game this season to the tight end position. That includes 204 yards and two touchdowns this season. If Okonkwo returns to the lineup this week, he has to be considered in your fantasy football TE streamers, since he has no real competition at tight end and he is nearly unowned.
