With OTAs well underway, the 2026 NFL season is finally starting to appear on the horizon. One of the most overlooked position for most of the fantasy season is tight end. Every year there are plenty of players who see their values fluctuate wildly in dynasty fantasy football and tight end is one of the positions where it is critical to get a difference maker. While not everyone can roster a Brock Bowers or Trey McBride, having a tight end that can put up consistent points is often the difference between the playoffs and a lottery pick.

With the draft behind us and sort of a lull in the dynasty fantasy football season, it’s important to strike while the iron is hot (or cold) on the trade block. In situations like New Orleans, Los Angeles and Green Bay, now may be the time to buy TEs who could help your team and see their value skyrocket this season.

Let’s take a look at three dynasty fantasy football buy low trade targets at the tight end position who are acquiring right now.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Buy Low Trade Targets at TE

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints

In 2025, only seven tight ends saw 100 or more targets. Would you believe me if I told you Juwan Johnson was one of them? In two of his last three healthy seasons, Juwan Johnson has ended up as TE10 in half-PPR leagues and yet nobody in dynasty fantasy football circles is talking about him.

The New Orleans Saints added Jordyn Tyson and spent four of their first seven draft picks on pass catchers, but Johnson still has plenty of value. While he likely won’t see 100+ targets again, it’s impressive he hit that number in the one season where Chris Olave was able to stay on the field for the majority of the year. Should Olave’s concussion issue rear its ugly head again or if Tyson is out for a few weeks, Johnson is going to see a lot of targets yet again.

For as long as Johnson’s been around, it’s hard to believe he’s still only 29 years old. He put up just under 900 receiving yards with bad quarterback play for most of the year and only had three touchdowns. With Tyler Shough looking like the real deal and Johnson likely to see more touchdowns, it’s hard to imagine he finishes much worse than he did last year. Seeing how he finished as TE10 in half-PPR and has little to no trade “value” for most owners, he provides a solid option at an incredibly low price for anyone who needs a starting tight end or additional depth at the position.

David Njoku, Los Angeles Chargers

Last year David Njoku saw his role overtaken fairly quickly in Cleveland by Harold Fannin Jr. This year, he finds himself in Los Angeles with the Chargers. A lot of dynasty fantasy football managers have fallen in love with Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden due to a few big games early in the season. While the fantasy industry always falls in love with a few players every offseason, it’s important to remember that those players often fail to live up to the hype.

Remember when Gabe Davis went off in the playoffs with the Buffalo Bills and everyone thought he’d be the next big thing? How did that turn out? Gadsden is a solid football player, but it’s important to look at his performances last season through a realistic lens. Yes, Gadsden did have seven catches for 164 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. What people don’t remember about him is that after that game, he had just one week where he had 70 or more receiving yards and just one touchdown. In fact, in his last ten games, he had five games with two or less receptions. When you look at his 2025 season holistically, he really didn’t do much. In fact, Njoku had more touchdowns (four) than Gadsden (three) last year.

So why do I bring up Gadsden’s last season when talking about Njoku? Well, his signing tells us there’s a reason the Chargers went out to get him. While Gadsden looked good for a few weeks, this is a team that is looking to win now and they need a reliable option to do that which is where Njoku comes in. The Chargers want a consistent pass catcher and that will be Njoku this year. Gadsden will certainly have his games, but it’ll be Njoku that reaps most of the rewards with a much better offense than his situation last year. Much like Johnson, his trade “value” is next to nothing, which makes him a great option to buy low in dynasty fantasy football right now.

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers

Injuries are something that can never be predicted in fantasy football. Sure, some guys are more injury prone than others, but that really doesn’t mean anything when you look at your average player. One of the more underrated names at the TE position last year was Tucker Kraft. There wasn’t a ton of love across the board from the fantasy industry, but there were certainly some people who felt he could be a league winner. Kraft looked the part at the start of the season, but unfortunately tore his ACL in Week 9 which cut his season short.

In his short three-year career to this point, Kraft finished outside the top 25 TE’s in 2023, was a top 10 TE in 2024, but then only played eight games last season. There is a lot of hype around a lot of tight ends, but the hype around Kraft is almost non-existent. If his own workout videos are any indication, he’s a freak of nature who seems to be well on schedule in his knee rehab. He could be good to go by the start of the season and even if he isn’t, he will only miss a few weeks at most.

Kraft now finds himself on an offense with fewer mouths to feed with the departures of Dontayvion Wicks and Romeo Doubs, and he saw plenty of looks even with them on the team. Not many people are talking about Kraft even with his newly elevated role and health no longer being an issue. Now may be the time his dynasty fantasy football trade “value” is the lowest it will be in quite some time, which is why he’s such a great buy low candidate.
