The NFL offseason continues to march on through OTAs. We are continuing to receive news and updates on how players are looking at what roles they are going to fill this season. With nes coming early in the offseason, this is the time that you need to familiarize yourself with the happenings in the NFL and used that to your advantage in dynasty fantasy football. One of the hardest positions to judge in fantasy football is the tight end position, where at this point you need a difference maker. While that is the case, it is likely that others in your league are looking for a difference maker. With that being said, if you have a few league mates that are in desperate need of a tight end, look at the Bears, 49ers and Ravens situations to see if you can get some value trading tight ends.
Let’s take a look at three dynasty fantasy football sell high trade targets at the tight end position who you need to trade away for the value right now.
Dynasty Fantasy Football Buy Low Trade Targets at TE
Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
If you ask anyone in the fantasy football community to name who they think will be a breakout candidate this season and some will answer Colston Loveland. With DJ Moore in Buffalo, it appears that Loveland’s role may climb this season. Even though Moore is out of town, I am still not sure that Loveland is the set to fill the entirely of the vacancy. First of all, we know that Ben Johnson wants to run the football. With D’Andre Swift, Kyle Monangai and even Roschon Johnson still in the mix, the Bears have a nice mix at the running back position. On top of that, Rome Odunze is set to be WR1 in Chicago and Luther Burden is expected to make a big jump this season. Add into the fact that Zavion Thomas has looked awesome in OTAs and all of a sudden it looks very crowded in Chicago’s offense.
A lot of people are going to be attracted to Loveland in fantasy football given his age – 22-years old, as well as performance down the stretch of the regular season and playoffs last season. According to KeepTradeCut, Loveland is ranked as the 29th best asset in dynasty fantasy football. For a player who is not the number one option in the offense, that is way too high. Loveland’s value is as high as it is ever going to be right now, so now is the time to cash in on it.
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
It is no secret that when he is on the field, George Kittle is one of the best players in the entire league, that much is not a secret. The issue that has plagued Kittle throughout his career though is staying healthy. He comes into the 2026-27 season with another injury, a torn achilles that he suffered late last season. Over the history of professional sports as a whole, an achilles injury is one of the tougher injuries to comes back from and perform at the same level that before the injury. Even though it appears Kittle is ready to be back for week 1, it is hard to believe that he is going to come out as the bruising, bowling ball we know him to be.
On top of the achilles injury, George Kittle all of a sudden has a lot of company in the 49ers offense. San Francisco picked Mike Evans and Christian Kirk in the offseason, which should eat heavily into Kittle’s share. Add into the fact, that Christian McCaffrey continues to perform like one of the best players in fantasy football and all of a sudden Kittle’s value looks a lot less appealing. While I am not expecting a huge return of anything for trading Kittle, there is bound to be a fantasy owner in your league who wants to take a shot on Kittle based off of a name value alone. Find this manager in your league and convince them that Kittle still has what it takes to be a difference maker in the NFL and fantasy football.
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
While some, including myself, thought that the Ravens would elect to stay young at the tight end position and keep Isaiah Likely, they kept Mark Andrews, who has been a franchise cornerstone in the Lamar Jackson era. While it appears that Andrews now has full control over the tight end room in Baltimore, things get a little more complicated in dynasty fantasy football when you realize that he will be 31-years old when the season starts. While Baltimore still does not have a go-to number one option in the receiving room, it makes sense for Andrews to be involved, but is Andrews the type of the player that you are sure is going to be the piece at tight end that wins you the championship? I am not so sure.
Similar to Kittle, there is going to be someone in your league that will overpay for Andrews based off of name value alone. Find these managers and start planting seeds to gauge their interest on the Oklahoma alum. This is a trade that you may want to hold off on until Andrews has a strong game early in the season and capitalize on that, but as I said before it is hard to believe that Andrews is going to be a difference maker in dynasty fantasy football for the foreseeable future.
