It was only a few days ago that the notion of the NBA Playoffs First Round series between the Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors making a return trip to Ontario was largely unfathomable. Tonight, Game 6 in Toronto is set to become a reality. The 5-seed Raptors have battled back from a 3-0 deficit and will have home-court on their side as they attempt to force a decisive seventh game. Of course, no team has ever come back from three games down to win a series in NBA Postseason history. This is just one of many 76ers vs Raptors stats garnering attention ahead of Game 6. The 76ers vs Raptors injury report is another key component to consider when formulating a prediction.

76ers vs Raptors Prediction

The 76ers went from holding a three-game series lead and appearing to be in cruise control to now being under an immense amount of pressure. Several variables have played out over the past week in this series. For starters, Philadelphia would not have even taken a 3-0 series advantage if not for Joel Embiid’s miracle buzzer shot in overtime of Game 3. Speaking of Embiid, the Sixers’ best player is now playing hurt. A torn ligament in his thumb may not be enough to keep him off the floor, but it will require offseason surgery.

Meanwhile, the Raptors seemingly have not had a complete lineup since the very start of this series. First, it was Scottie Barnes, the newly crowned NBA Rookie of the Year, who went down with an injury in Game 1. He returned for Game 4 which was the same contest in which star point guard Fred VanVleet exited early with a hip issue. FVV missed Monday’s Game 5 and is listed as doubtful on today’s 76ers vs Raptors injury report.

Minus one of their top guns, the Raptors still managed to race out to a double-digit halftime lead and never looked back. Pascal Siakam’s 23 points led an onslaught that also saw Precious Achiuwa, OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr. and Barned all score in double figures. Let’s not forget about the coaching mismatch in this series either. While Nick Nurse is one of the savviest minds in the NBA today, Doc Rivers has now lost more closeout games (31) than any coach in league history. Oh, and he’s just 3-11 in such games since 2015.
