NFL Training Camp is right around the corner, which means football is finally starting to come back into our lives. Of course, that means it is time for the best and the most stressful part of the year — fantasy football drafts. Finding those fantasy football sleepers in drafts, especially at the tight end position, is no easy task.

Tight ends are known for being the “quarterback’s best friend” or a “security blanket.” But in fantasy football, it is starting to become harder to find a reliable TE once the consensus top tier is gone. This post is here to help you find some late TE fantasy football sleepers to become your fantasy team’s best friend!

Once you finish reading this article, we also have written about the most consistent fantasy football TEs and the most overvalued TEs in fantasy football drafts.

3 Tight Ends Sleepers To Target

Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears

Cole Kmet’s ADP for Tight Ends is right around 15th. Kmet was actually the 8th most targeted Tight End last year. He had 93 targets last season, which averaged 5.4 targets per game, with the huge upside being that he is not under a Matt Nagy-led offense anymore, and he already has chemistry with Justin Fields. Although, he went touchdown-less last year, a 93-target Tight End, and was the 2nd most targeted Chicago Bear last year. He’s guaranteed to get you points even if he’s going in later rounds.

Albert Okwuegbunam, Denver Broncos

His name might be hard to say or spell, and he’s currently going around the 12th-14th round in fantasy football drafts. When the Broncos traded for Russell Wilson, they sent Noah Fant to Seattle, who was the TE12 for last season. The next guy up is Albert Okwuegbunam, as he had 33 receptions for 330 yards and two touchdowns for Denver in his second NFL season. It also helps that Russell Wilson has proven to actually target his tight ends, as in the last five weeks of the 2021 season, the Seahawks TEs were the 15th highest-scoring TE group in PPR fantasy football scoring.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

David Njoku might not even be on your radar, as his ADP is currently in the 200s for PPR. This may finally be Njoku’s year, as the Browns went through drastic changes with their offense. Njoku is now the longest-tenured Cleveland Brown receiver. He was cranking out 4+ targets in five of his last seven games last season, and that was with Austin Hooper and Jarvis Landry playing. There is the uncertainty of who will be his quarterback and for how long. However, it’s sounding more and more of a certainty that Jacoby Brissett or Josh Dobbs will start some games next season, and a backup quarterback’s friend is always a tight end, making him among the more intriguing fantasy football sleepers for 2022.
