Zack Moss is a Fantasy Must-Start After Jonathan Taylor Injury

Zack Moss finds himself thrust into the starting running back role again for the Indianapolis Colts, due to the Jonathan Taylor injury. However, this isn’t Moss’s first stint as the Colts starting running back in a short timeframe, having filled in for Taylor during Weeks 2-4 when Taylor was on the PUP list.

Given his play during this time, Zack Moss fantasy football owners can trust him for Week 13.

Zack Moss Fantasy Football Outlook Week 13

During that initial stretch, Zack Moss’ fantasy football performance was mostly dominant, boasting an impressive average of 107.3 scrimmage yards, 0.6 total touchdowns and, most importantly, 16.7 PPR fantasy points. This remarkable showing catapulted him to RB8 in PPR scoring, in that short three-week span. But it’s been the whole season, as the Colts running back duo has demonstrated dominance throughout the season, with only one game featuring either of them where double-digit PPR fantasy football points weren’t achieved.

If those stats weren’t intriguing for you, then consider Moss’ opponent. The Titans have been vulnerable against running backs in recent outings. In three of their last four games, the Titans have allowed opposing running backs to score a touchdown, amass over 86 scrimmage yards and accumulate more than 15.6 PPR fantasy points. Then, we can flashback to Week 5, the first game with Jonathan Taylor back. As Taylor was slowly worked back in, Moss had a full workload and delivered a standout performance, totaling 23 carries for 165 yards and two touchdowns, amassing over 33 PPR fantasy points. This has not been done by any Colts running back since Week 11 of the 2021 season.

Considering the favorable matchup and Moss’ demonstrated ability to shine in critical situations, he emerges as a must-start for fantasy managers. Honestly, seeing him finish as a top-five running back this week is not far-fetched, given Moss’ previous strong showings, the Colts’ consistent success in the running game, and the Titans’ struggles against the run, especially in their earlier encounter.
