WWE RAW Highlights

Ciampa’s Star Rises, but Bobby Shines in Title Match

The US title has been an electric scene the last couple of weeks, and this week they made two excellent choices. Ciampa becomes more human each week, with his tribute to the late great Harley Race especially endearing tonight despite remaining a heel, which is the right choice. Second, we have Bobby Lashley retain the title for now. As much as I love the idea of pushing Ciampa, too much too soon could sour the crowd on him, especially when Lashley might be as over as he ever has been. Lashley makes the title feel like a big deal, and having Ciampa come oh so close to winning in a great match and then working his way back up is an even better story.

This division suddenly feels immense in recent weeks, and Lashley is holding the whole thing together. Both men deserve major props, but hopefully, WWE take their time building someone to take out Lashley.

The Women’s Tag Team Titles Return

After months of drama behind the scenes, not only are the Women’s tag team titles back but so are Sasha Banks and Naomi, according to multiple sources. This division has never been great, but it has a chance to get more women on TV in meaningful roles, and it can give us some good matches like we saw tonight. But most importantly, it was shitty of WWE to remove Naomi and Sasha in the first place just for demanding these titles be used as titles, so bringing back this division in a big way is the right call.

When we get the eventual return of the exiled champs, it will be an even bigger moment for a Women’s division that’s riding high as of late.

WWE RAW Lowlights

No Bombshells

After the returns of Io Sky, Dakota Kai, Bayley, Karian Kross and Scarlet, and now Dexter Lumis, along with rumors of even more returns happening soon, this WWE RAW was pretty mundane. Granted, not a bad show at all, but it did feel a little lackluster after recent weeks of must-see TV.

The Triple H Era couldn’t be expected to be that level of dramatic each week, but still, it should be noted that tonight’s show just felt a little more normal than the last couple of weeks, and hopefully, WWE can capture some of the excitement backstage on their TV product more-so going forward.
