NXT Championship Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs Apollo Crews
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Bron Breakker: (-1250)
- Apollo Crews: (+550)
When Apollo Crews returned to NXT, he made it clear that his intention was to pursue the NXT Championship. After toppling Grayson Waller at Halloween Havoc, Crews set his sights on Bron Breakker. The interesting thing about Saturday’s title match is that neither man has abandoned his “face” persona in the build-up. Instead, pre-fight promos have seen Crews and Breakker almost appear to be friends with a healthy level of respect for one another.
Breakker’s second title reign has now surpassed the eight-month mark after he reclaimed the gold back in April. Accordingly, he is a heavy WWE betting picks favorite to retain on Saturday. While one has to believe that Crews’ time will come, the build to this championship match at NXT Deadline has been incredibly lackluster. As such, it would be a major surprise to see the NXT Championship change hands.
WWE Betting Picks: Bron Breakker (-1250 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match: Carmelo Hayes vs JD McDonagh vs Joe Gacy vs Grayson Waller vs Axiom
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Carmelo Hayes: (-150)
- Grayson Waller: (N/A)
- JD McDonagh: (+250)
- Joe Gacy: (+300)
- Axiom: (+900)
The Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match features an impressive field of five, all of whom will be hungry to capture the brand’s top prize. Carmelo Hayes is the WWE picks odds-on favorite to win Saturday’s five-man showdown. As a former two-time NXT North American Champion, Hayes certainly has the most impressive resume of the field to date.
With that being said, it’s impossible to count out the other superstars involved in this match. Axiom figures to put on a show, but it’s hard to see him rising to NXT Championship contender status at this time. As such, JD McDonagh, Joe Gacy and Grayson Waller can be considered more legitimate threats to win at NXT Deadline 2022.
McDonagh was just part of an epic triple threat for the NXT Championship at Halloween Havoc. However, it’s possible he still has some unfinished business with Ilja Dragunov in the near future after injuring him the week after both lost to Breakker.
As for Gacy, one has to believe that it’s only a matter of time before he and his Schism faction become a prominent force in NXT. That being said, Gacy already failed to take the title from Breakker twice this past year. This makes it seem less likely that he will jump back into the title hunt at NXT Deadline.
Waller hosted all of the other Iron Survivor Challenge competitors on his show, “The Grayson Waller Effect”, this past Tuesday. The man known as the ‘Arrogant Aussie’ is perhaps overdue for another push after his pursuit of the North American title fell flat.
At 5-1 odds, Waller is an intriguing longshot pick. However, with Trick Williams undoubtedly paying dividends at some point during the match, look for Hayes to make good on his status as the odds-on favorite.
WWE Betting Picks: Carmelo Hayes (-150 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
Women’s Iron Survivor Match: Zoey Stark vs Cora Jade vs Roxanne Perez vs Kiana James vs Indi Hartwell
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Roxanne Perez: (-140)
- Cora Jade: (+200)
- Zoey Stark: (+300)
- Indi Hartwell: (+500)
- Kiana James (+1400)
Much like the men’s match above, there is an odds-on WWE betting picks favorite for the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Oddsmakers are placing a lot of faith in Roxanne Perez to win at NXT Deadline 2022 and become the No. 1 contender for Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship.
Perez being such a decisive favorite certainly makes sense from a booking standpoint given that she is the only true “face” in this match. After her former best friend Cora Jade cost her in a previous attempt to take the belt from Rose, winning the Iron Survivor Challenge would be a tremendous story of redemption for Perez.
Speaking of Jade, she is the next shortest shot on the board to win the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at 2-1 odds. However, as a bona fide “heel” character, it seems quite unlikely that Jade will be the one to emerge as No. 1 contender. The same can be said of Zoey Stark, who clearly still has hell to pay with former tag team partner Nikkata Lyons after stabbing her in the back a few weeks ago.

Yet to be discussed are the two long shots on the WWE betting odds board. After pinning Fallon Henley to effectively secure her spot in the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, Kiana James invited Brooks Jensen to NXT Deadline as a VIP guest. Clearly, the feud between Henley and James is far from over.
Then, there’s Indi Hartwell. She had to win a triple-threat match this past Tuesday just to qualify for NXT Deadline. However, it’s no secret amongst the NXT Universe that she is due to break out. With no other feuds imminent, it’s time for Hartwell to make a run at NXT gold.
WWE Betting Picks: Indi Hartwell (+500 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Pretty Deadly (c) vs New Day
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Pretty Deadly: (-250)
- New Day: (+170)
What a surprise it was this past Tuesday when New Day showed up on NXT and challenged Pretty Deadly to a tag team title match at NXT Deadline 2022. It has been a tough stretch for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods on the main WWE roster recently. New Day recently got passed by The Usos for the longest tag team title reign in WWE history. Making matters worse was that Kingston and Woods had the opportunity to prevent that from happening but once again fell short against the Day Ones.
On the surface, it seems logical that Elton Prince and Kit Wilson will retain the NXT Tag Team Championship at Deadline. After all, New Day certainly isn’t coming back to NXT on a full-time basis. However, a prolonged reign as champions is hardly necessary. If Kingston and Woods can capture the belts on Saturday, New Day will become a WWE Tag Team Grand Slam Champion team.
What’s more, having the New Day present on NXT in the short term would provide a much-needed jolt to a rather stagnant tag team division. Pretty Deadly has been very fortunate to retain their titles on several occasions since winning the unification match at Worlds Collide. Based on the recent trajectory of the two teams, one could argue that Kingston and Woods almost need this win more than the current champs.
WWE Betting Picks: New Day (+170 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
Women’s Singles Match: Alba Fyre vs Isla Dawn
Moneyline Odds to Win:
- Isla Dawn: (-200)
- Alba Fyre: (+150)
Isla Dawn’s first appearance on NXT in the States came at the expense of her former rival in NXT UK, Alba Fyre. Just when it looked like Fyre was set to defeat Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship, Dawn sprayed poisonous mist in her face and pushed her off a ladder through the announce table.
After Dawn’s in-ring debut this past Tuesday, Fyre attacked her from behind, hungry for revenge. This singles match was later added to the NXT Deadline 2022 match card. Given how little storyline build-up there has been, the feud between these two women seems unlikely to be put to bed after one match. As the relative newcomer of the two, Dawn figures to pick up the victory.
WWE Betting Picks: Isla Dawn (-200 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
