Willy Adames Fantasy Baseball Outlook 2024
Willy Adames’ batting average was concerning last season, at .217, and his slugging didn’t compensate, with only 24 HR and 80 RBI. Adames’ fantasy baseball production had him out of most owners’ rosters by the end of the year, and that’s followed into 2024 with his ADP placing him as the 20th SS taken on average. He’s only on roster in about half of all leagues.
So why does the Willy Adames fantasy baseball value have the potential to break out in 2024? Value more than anything. Adames isn’t likely to be a top-five shortstop, and even top 10 would be unlikely. The real fantasy value is that his production last year was clearly an outlier.
Adames has consistently been better in every season since he’s developed as a starter, and the former All-Star is due for a return to form. His projections have him closer to the top 15 of fantasy baseball shortstops, and with the Brewers taking a step back in 2024 seemingly, his spot in the heart of the lineup is also secure. Most crucially, you can get a guy with everyday utility potential in the last couple of rounds of most drafts, and I think that’s worth it with one of the most obvious bounce-back values out there.
