Jonathan Taylor has been as consistent as they come throughout this season, even though he has played in only eight games due to injury. Currently riding a four-game streak of scoring touchdowns, achieving double-digit PPR fantasy points and accumulating a minimum of 15 carries, Taylor’s reliability has been a cornerstone of his success. However, the looming question is whether Jonathan Taylor’s fantasy football consistency will hold up in Week 17 against the Raiders.

Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Football Outlook Week 17

The answer may shock you, as we look further into the statistics of the Raiders defense against running backs. From Week 10, with the exception of Isiah Pacheco, the Raiders have effectively shut down opposing running backs. No other running back has surpassed 12.1 PPR fantasy points in these six weeks. Even when facing running backs with 15 or more carries, the outcomes have been lackluster, yielding no touchdowns and no player exceeding 93 scrimmage yards. The highest PPR fantasy points accrued by a running back with 15+ carries during this period was 10.3. Even when expanding the games to Week 9, which coincides with Antonio Pierce’s first game as interim head coach for the Raiders, it further strengthens the case. In that week, the Raiders successfully contained Saquon Barkley to 113 scrimmage yards, despite his 16 carries, limiting him to only 14.3 PPR fantasy points.

While Jonathan Taylor enters this game on a hot streak, the outlook suggests a challenging task ahead. The Raiders seem to have found their defensive stride under Pierce, with only Isiah Pacheco managing to thrive against them. Notable running backs like Breece Hall, Raheem Mostert, and Austin Ekeler have all struggled to surpass 10.5 PPR fantasy points against the Raiders since Week 10, indicating a tough challenge for Jonathan Taylor fantasy owners.
