Week 9 Fantasy Football Streamers at WR

Darnell Mooney, CHI (vs TEN)

This is a boom or bust week for Darnell Mooney. Owned in just seven percent of ESPN leagues, Mooney is coming off of a game where he recorded 69 yards and a touchdown on five receptions. Chicago is matched up against Tennessee, who gives up the second-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. With all of the eyes likely on Allen Robinson, Mooney should see a handful of targets. With the Titans inability to rush the passer, Nick Foles should be able to go through all of his reads on every passing down. This bodes well for Mooney, as he is seen as field stretcher for Chicago. Foles may be able to hook up with Mooney a couple times this week, which can cash in for a big fantasy day.

Mooney is a huge “high risk, high reward” player, but playing a bad Tennessee defense, partnered with byes and injuries, Mooney needs to be on your streamer radar.

Laviska Shenault, JAC (vs HOU)

With Gardner Minshew out this week, Houston’s defense will focus on stopping James Robinson. If Jacksonville has trouble running the ball, they may need a gadget player to spark the offense. Laviska Shenault personifies this, as he can line up almost anywhere on the offense. Shenault should see a lot of targets this week, which may result in a big fantasy day. Houston is currently 26th against opposing receivers and Shenault is only owned in 25% of ESPN leagues. If Jacksonville gets down in the game too, Shenault is a major candidate to be involved in trick plays. He is a great streamer candidate this week.

Jakobi Meyers, NE (vs NYJ)

With Julian Edelman out indefinitely, someone on the Patriots’ offense has to catch the ball. Cam Newton hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since week 3, but I fully expect that to change this week. This a game where the Patriots need to kick the crap out of the Jets as a feel-good game. Jakobi Meyers seems like he will be a big benefactor in this great matchup. At 6-2, 200 lbs, he is a big and athletic enough receiver for Newton to force the ball to. This could be a week where you can get ahead of the curve and cash in on a big Meyers week and won’t have to worry about putting a claim on him on the waiver wire next week.
