Week 9 Fantasy Football Streamers at RB

J.K. Dobbins/Gus Edwards, BAL (at IND)

J.K Dobbins was one of the hottest waiver wire pickups of the week. I’ve taken a lot of flack from my league-mates for holding onto him the entire season. They wondered why I wanted an RB in a three running back timeshare. Well, last week showed why. Dobbins turned 15 carries into 113 yards against a tough Steelers defense. He has looked great all year and, in the first game that he finally got the volume, he produced for fantasy purposes. Dobbins is also the best pass catcher in this backfield. With Mark Ingram hurt, it’s the Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins show, and I’m all about it. Ingram is still dealing with an ankle injury that will likely keep him out again this week. Dobbins played on 54 snaps to Edwards’ 26. Dobbins is a must play even against a good Colts defense.

Gus Edwards is also very talented and has seen more touches than Dobbins throughout the year. I expect the Ravens to get ahead in this game after Rivers struggles mightily against the Ravens defense. If that happens, they’re going to pound the rock with Edwards. Edwards is also likely to get the goal line touches over Dobbins so there’s a decent chance he falls into the endzone.

Damien Harris, NE (at NYJ)

Damien Harris continues to flash. He had 10 carries for 58 yards two weeks ago against the Niners. Last week against the Bills, he had 16 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. His explosive 22-yard touchdown run showed what he’s capable of. Cam Newton hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since Week 3 and has only thrown for over 175 yards one time. In other words, the passing game isn’t the answer for this offense. This team needs to run the ball to move the chains, and Harris has been the only notable running back the last two weeks. A matchup against the Jets always creates great fantasy football streamers.

Zack Moss, BUF (vs SEA)

Zack Moss was featured in this fantasy football streamers article last week, after seeing more touches than an ineffective Devin Singletary. He stepped up in Week 8 against the Patriots. He had 14 carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns, which was good for 20.1 fantasy points. Seattle’s defense has looked poor all year. Moss is the goal line back, and it’s great to find a running back on waivers that brings touchdown upside every week. The Bills want to run the ball well, after failing to do so for most of the season.

They finally established the run against the Patriots last week and will look to continue their success against the Seahawks. Moss is a strong streamer play this week that also brings season-long value.
