Week 9 Fantasy Football Streamers at QB

Derek Carr, LV (at LAC)

A bad weather game against Cleveland last week held Derek Carr back, but don’t let that fool you. There were wind gusts of 40+ mph and scoring was limited by both teams, as the Raiders beat the Browns. Before that game, Carr had multiple touchdown passes in six consecutive weeks. Carr only has two interceptions on the season. He has been rejuvenated this year, with a new cast of weapons. He now plays the Chargers, who just gave up 248 yards and three touchdowns to Drew Lock. The Chargers are currently 27th in points given up to the QB position. This is a plus matchup for Carr, and I expect him to bounce back in a big way this way week, making him one of the top fantasy football streamers of the week.

Drew Lock, DEN (at ATL)

Speaking of Drew Lock, his performance against the Chargers this week instilled a lot of confidence in me. It’s been slow going this season. There was the AC joint injury he sustained early on, but he’s now back and appears to be fully healthy. Lock has played three games since returning from the injury. He performed poorly against the Patriots in his first game back, then he played the Chiefs in a tough matchup in the snow. I’ll give him a pass there.

Then, he took on the Chargers in a game they were seriously behind, so the Chargers knew he was passing the entire second half. Yet, they still couldn’t stop him. He led the team from behind in a big division win. I think we can trust Lock as a streamer against the Falcons, who are still last in terms of fantasy points given up to the QB position.

Teddy Bridgewater, CAR (at KC)

The Panthers have played good competitive football all season, despite being a young team with a new coach. They have good wins against the Chargers and Cardinals, and they almost beat the Saints in New Orleans two weeks ago. After a tough loss to the Falcons on Thursday Night Football, I think the offense bounces back this week against the Chiefs. We know one thing for certain; the Chiefs will put up a lot of points. Bridgewater will have to pass to keep the Panthers competitive. DJ Moore, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel continue to make big plays, and there’s a good chance they get Christian McCaffrey back for this game. This offense, when its fully healthy, is going to be a headache. The Panthers will want to throw everything they have at the Chiefs in this game, and I have confidence in Bridgewater this week as a streamer.
