Week 8 Fantasy Football Streamers at RB

Zack Moss, BUF (vs NE)

Last week marked the second week back from injury for Zack Moss, and he had the same amount of opportunities as Devin Singletary. Moss saw seven carries to Singletary’s eight, and three receptions to Singletary’s two. He was much more effective on the ground. The receptions are particularly inspiring, because Singletary is supposed to be the pass catching back. If Moss can start to see some receptions along with getting the goal-line work, he may start to put together some solid fantasy performances as the season continues. Singletary has been ineffective for most of the season, which could open the door for Moss to see an increased role. If a Bills running back falls into the end zone, it will surely be Moss, due to him being more of a bruiser. You can do worse than Moss against New England next week as a streamer, and Moss has the potential to bring season-long value.

Giovani Bernard, CIN (vs TEN)

This entirely depends on the health of Joe Mixon. Reports have recently come out that Mixon could miss multiple weeks with his foot injury. That would make Giovani Bernard a great play and the defacto workhorse for the team. I started Bernard last week in a league where I own Mixon, and he came through for my team in a big way. He had 13 carries for 37 yards. Bernard also had five receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown, netting him 20.6 fantasy points and making him the RB7 on the week. I love what I’m seeing from the Cincinnati Bengals offense. The Titans have been a “bend don’t break” defense this season, so they don’t scare me off this matchup. It will be hard to find a better streamer than Bernard off the waiver wire, if Mixon doesn’t suit up.

Carlos Hyde, SEA (vs SF)

This backfield is a mess, but I will try and decipher it for this week. Chris Carson has a mid-foot sprain and will likely miss this game. Travis Homer has a bruised right knee and, even if he plays, he is unlikely to be effective. Carlos Hyde, on the other hand, saw 15 carries. He looked good, taking those 15 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. The team doesn’t seem to trust DeeJay Dallas, and Pete Carroll publicly discussed Dallas’ issues with pass protection. Ultimately, it looks like Hyde is the only viable option in this game that Carroll trusts. Hyde has a tight hamstring. Expect him to be limited in practice all week, but he doesn’t appear to be a risk to miss time or be limited in what is a revenge game.
