As we enter Week 3 of football, we’ve already seen many massive individual performances from offensive players in the early NFL season. With players like Derrick Henry and Cooper Kupp putting up contest-winning NFL DFS performances last week, we look to see which players can give us the same boost on FanDuel this Sunday.

This article will outline the Week 3 NFL DFS picks for core players at each position to hammer into your FanDuel lineups this week.

Week 3 NFL DFS Picks for FanDuel

Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson ($8,400)

Coming off of a career performance against the Chiefs, Lamar Jackson gets a mouthwatering matchup against the Detroit Lions’ terrible run defense. Detroit’s defense ranks at the bottom of the league when it comes to defending both the run and the pass. This explosive Baltimore offense also gets to the red zone often, and they have converted all six trips into touchdowns. Look for Jackson to put up another massive fantasy week using his rushing ability.

Justin Herbert ($7,500)

With the second-highest over/under of the slate at 54.5 points, the Chargers vs Chiefs game is one that DFS players will look to target this week. Justin Herbert is averaging 337.5 passing yards and will have plenty of attempts playing opposite of Mahomes. With Ekeler, Allen and Williams all underpriced on FanDuel, Herbert is one of my favorite players to stack in tournaments.

Other Options: Patrick Mahomes ($8,700), Russell Wilson ($8,400), Josh Allen ($8,000)

Running Backs

Dalvin Cook ($9,500)

The Seattle Seahawks just had a nightmare Week 2, getting run over by Derrick Henry who dropped 44.7 FanDuel NFL DFS points. Now, they have to face another elite running back in Dalvin Cook, who as expected is averaging 25 touches a game. With both team’s defenses struggling, this should be a high-scoring affair. It’s a game you want exposure to and, with all the discounted receivers, there’s no problem fitting Cook into your lineup.

Austin Ekeler ($7,000)

After not seeing a target in Week 1, Austin Ekeler thrived with nine catches for 61 yards last week against Dallas. With the team’s game script this week, we can expect Ekeler to see the same volume through the air. At just $7,000, Ekeler is expected to be heavily owned this week and is a great stacking option with Herbert.

Saquon Barkley ($6,000)

What a turn of the tables for Saquon Barkley who opened Week 1 with a FanDuel salary of $8,500 and is now listed at $6,000. He draws a great matchup against a poor Falcons defense and is coming off 10 days of rest. After being limited early in the season, we’re optimistic about Giants, as the Giants enter as -2.5 point favorites. Expect high ownership of Barkley this week, as his value and matchup make him extremely tough to fade.

Other Options: Alvin Kamara ($8,000), Joe Mixon ($6,700), Ty’Son Williams ($6,400)

Wide Receivers

DK Metcalf ($7,200)

While Tyler Lockett has had an explosive start to the season, DK Metcalf has unexpectedly been quiet through two weeks. This week, Metcalf is $800 cheaper on FanDuel than Tyler Lockett even though they have an identical 29.6% target share. Minnesota’s defense has allowed the second-most NFL DFS points to receivers so far and, as we know, Metcalf is someone that can put up tournament-winning numbers.

Keenan Allen ($6,900)

As mentioned earlier, Keenan Allen and Justin Herbert are one of my priority stacks for this week. Allen has come off back-to-back 100-yard games and is seventh in the league in targeted air yards per game (110.5). For those stacking the Chargers, Allen is a must-roster at his salary and can be played alongside a Chiefs stack as well.

Robert Woods ($6,100)

Coming into the season, many (myself included) saw Kupp and Robert Woods as equal in fantasy value. Just two weeks into the season and Kupp has significantly outplayed Woods. This week, Kupp ($7,900) is $1,800 more expensive than his teammate. Kupp has a massive 38.2% target share thus far, compared to Woods’ 23.6%, but he played only one more snap than Woods last week. You will want exposure to this game, and I’d prioritize Woods over Kupp based on value.

Ja’Marr Chase ($5,900)

Ja’Marr Chase has had an electric start to his career, with 155 yards and two touchdowns through his first two games. He will be a chalky option this week, with Tee Higgins expected to sit with a shoulder injury. Assuming Higgins sits, Chase will become a massive value play at just $5,900, even in a tougher matchup against the Steelers.

Other Options: Tyreek Hill ($8,700), Justin Jefferson ($7,400), AJ Brown ($6,800), Mike Williams ($6,000), Michael Pittman Jr. ($5,600)

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce ($8,500)

After back-to-back 20 fantasy point games, Travis Kelce draws a matchup against the Chargers, where he’ll look to continue the momentum. He holds a 23.1% target share in this electric offense and, as expected, is the highest projected tight end for the week. In a game that will be heavily stacked, Kelce is a strong play once again.

T.J. Hockenson ($6,300)

T.J. Hockenson’s connection with Jared Goff has been one of the lone highlights of the Lions’ season, with 20 targets on the season and a touchdown in each game. This week, he plays a Ravens defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends. Priced similarly to players like Gronkowski, Pitts and Fant, Hockenson is my clear favorite of the bunch.

Other Options: Darren Waller ($7,400), Mark Andrews ($6,000), Tyler Higbee ($5,500)
