We saw a number of starting quarterbacks go down with injuries this past week, including Jayden Daniels, Jaxson Dart and Caleb Williams, which means if you were starting one of those three, you need to be hunting the waiver wire this week. On top of the injuries, we have seen poor quarterback play from a few thought-of starters, including Drake Maye and Justin Herbert.
We have highlighted all of the top fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 3, but that’s not necessarily the list of the best players to add and start this weekend. Now that we have another week of information in the fantasy football sphere, there are a number of players that we can look at on the waiver wire to help our fantasy teams. Below we’ll cover three options for Week 3 fantasy football quarterback streamers.

Kyler Murray, Vikings at TB (49.7%)
Kyler Murray is back in the starting lineup for the Minnesota Vikings after clearing concussion protocol, which is a good thing for fantasy football. If you were a Jayden Daniels owner and want to continue to benefit from that rushing upside, you have to look at Murray this week. While we don’t have much film to go off of with Murray in Minnesota, we know that his ability to extend plays and run pushes his ceiling as high as any quarterback in fantasy football.
Murray and the Vikings also have a great matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. Through two weeks, the Bucs have given up 39 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. That includes 492 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. Last week, we saw Deshaun Watson go for 238 yards and two touchdowns, including looking like one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL towards the end of the game. With Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and TJ Hockenson at his disposal, Murray has a great chance to be a solid Week 3 fantasy football QB streamer.
Jordan Love, Packers vs ATL (44.5%)
While the Green Bay Packers continue to underperform through the first two weeks of the season, Jordan Love has been putting together a quality season for fantasy managers. He currently sits at QB15 ahead of players like Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow and Matthew Stafford (for a full list of rankings, as well as other important stats and trends, check out the FlurrySports Playbook). Given the lack of a run game in Green Bay, the Packers have to continue to rely on Love and the pass game to move the ball, especially on a short week.
This week, the Packers take on the Atlanta Falcons during their home opener. This works in a couple of ways for Love and the Packers. First, Green Bay is 10-0 in the team’s last 10 home openers. With a six-point spread, it appears the sportsbooks are moving in favor of Green Bay keeping that streak alive. The second point for Love is that Atlanta has been poor against the quarterback position this season. Atlanta has given up 21.5 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, including giving up 508 passing yards and four passing touchdowns.
Geno Smith, Jets at DET (3.8% owned)
The New York Jets mucked it up against Green Bay to bring the Packers to overtime, but they were unable to come away with the victory. What looked good for the Jets last week, though, was the play of Geno Smith and the passing attack. Smith finished the game with 247 yards and a touchdown pass. That pass went to Garrett Wilson, which is great since Wilson has seemingly struggled in recent years. Getting your go-to number one receiver involved will be key to keep the strong passing attack alive this season.
The Jets take on the Detroit Lions this week, who look like one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL. Through two weeks, the Lions have given up a total of 74 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. That number includes 658 passing yards and six passing touchdowns. The Lions are seven-point favorites, meaning that the Jets will be playing from behind in this game. With that being the case, throwing the ball will keep the Jets alive, leading to a big week from Geno Smith and the Jets’ passing attack.
