Week 1 is always full of surprises, and the 2020 season is no exception. We saw numerous injuries and disappointing performances across the league, which opens up possible buy-low opportunities. It is important to stay on top of this, so you can pull off some season-winning fantasy football trades.

When it comes to fantasy football, it is important not to overreact to the first game of the season. There are many teams and players that have a little rust at the beginning of the season but are able to work it off as the season progresses. This is even more important to remember this year, given that each team was forced to move on without any preseason games.

Here are three of the top fantasy football trade targets we think should be on your radar. These players finished below expectations during their first game, but they are guaranteed to rebound and greatly increase in value. We have provided a couple of players comparable in value to our targets.

Fantasy Football Trade Targets

Dak Prescott, QB, DAL

With the addition of CeeDee Lamb, everyone came into the year expecting Dak Prescott to perform as a top-four quarterback. Finishing as the QB19 this week and only scoring 17.64 points, the manager in your league holding Prescott might be overreacting and looking to move in another direction. His stat line was nowhere near expectations, given his draft capital, only throwing 266 yards and one touchdown.

There are also doubts about his supporting cast after Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. New head coach Mike McCarthy had some questionable decisions in his first game with Dallas, and starting tight end Blake Jarwin is now out for the year with a torn ACL. In some leagues, Prescott could be a buy-low option. He will certainly bounce back, considering that, with the exception of Seattle, his next five matchups are favorable (ATL, SEA, CLE, NYG, ARI).

Players With Similar Fantasy Football Trade Value

Alexander Mattison: He earned 80 all-purpose yards vs. Green Bay, showing off his versatility on the ground and through the air. He would be an elite option if Dalvin Cook were to miss time.

WIll Fuller: Deshaun Watson heavily-targeted Will Fuller this week, proving he may be Houston’s number one receiving option. Despite this, Fuller does have a long history of getting injured shortly after showing promise.

Nick Chubb , RB, CLE

To put it simply, the Cleveland Browns did not look good on Sunday. They were obliterated by the Baltimore Ravens, 38-6, with their only score being a one-yard touchdown pass to David Njoku. Nick Chubb also lost the battle for touches to Kareem Hunt, being out-touched 17-11. This may have to do with his fumble in the third quarter, but it most likely comes from the change of game script.

With his Week 1 finish being right around 5.6 PPR points and with concerns of a timeshare, you should be looking to buy some Chubb shares while the value has dropped. He averaged 6.0 yards per carry, proving he still is able to be an efficient back. Kevin Stefanski and his power run game will be back in play next week against Cincinnati, who gave up 155 rushing yards to the Chargers.

Players With Similar Fantasy Football Trade Value

David Johnson: He had 109 all-purpose yards and a touchdown last week against Kansas City, but he is looking at some tough matchups the next couple of weeks in Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

Michael Thomas: New Orleans just announced their star wide receiver may miss a few weeks with a high ankle sprain. If you have the opportunity to stash him, now would be a good time to make a move.

A.J. Green, WR, CIN

Looking like his old self again, A.J. Green led his team in receptions and yards (five catches, 51 yards). He faced a tough matchup in the Chargers, who boast some of the best cornerbacks in the league. He would have had a three-yard touchdown to win the game, but was called for offensive pass interference. Green’s stat line would have been nine targets, six catches, 54 yards and a touchdown.

Despite the team’s loss, Joe Burrow showed great promise, completing just under 66% of his passes and leading his team down the field in crunch time. Green and the young quarterback have great chemistry, and they look to build upon their solid foundation against Cleveland, Philadelphia and Jacksonville.

Players With Similar Fantasy Football Trade Value

Mark Ingram: Ingram’s fantasy football trade value has greatly dropped after only 29 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns from J.K. Dobbins. However, Ingram is still the lead back and will face up against Houston and Kansas City, who have allowed a combined 5.1 yards per carry this season.

Jared Cook: With Michael Thomas out for a couple of weeks, expect Jared Cook to get a bump in value after an already busy week, posting a team-high 80 yards through the air. His red-zone targets could greatly increase while his teammate is healing up.
