Week 13 Fantasy Football Streamers at RB

J.K. Dobbins, BAL (vs. DAL)

With a cluster of news surrounding the Ravens, it seems like ages ago when we saw J.K. Dobbins play against the Titans in Week 11. Let’s look at that game. Dobbins had 11 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown. He also added two receptions for 15 yards, good for 18.5 PPR fantasy points and the RB5 finish. Mark Ingram had two carries and Gus Edwards had three. Neither of them recorded a reception. Dobbins was the clear lead back and earned steady work all game long. Ingram has looked ineffective all season and nothing like he did last year.

Dobbins takes on the Cowboys this week. We just witnessed what Antonio Gibson did to them. The Ravens should run all over them and I expect Dobbins to break off a few big runs. I’m taking my shot here that Dobbins will continue to see volume similar to the Tennessee game. If that happens, he will be among the top fantasy football streamers of the week.

James White, NE (at LAC)

James White was in this article last week and got it done. He finished as the RB15, with 14.7 fantasy points. Admittedly, it was a little lucky because he did it on the back of two short rushing touchdowns. However, points are points and that is his second week in a row finishing as the RB15. I think the reception totals will jump up. Rex Burkhead is done for the season and White is the only pass-catching running back of note. Damien Harris only has three receptions on the season to prove that point. Game scripts will be key for White. When the Patriots are trailing, I expect White to see a solid baseline of receptions, which is especially important in PPR leagues. I expect to see one of those game scripts this week against the Chargers in game with a 47-point over/under, making White a viable streamer.

Cam Akers, LAR (at ARI)

It looks like I’m all in on Cam Akers going forward. I wrote about him in our staff article detailing low-owned players that will help teams down the fantasy playoff stretch. Then, I named him the number one waiver wire pickup on Wednesday’s live stream. Akers should be owned in every league and he is the exact type of player you want to take a shot on. A rib injury early in the season put him behind Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown on the Rams depth chart. I’ve been waiting for him to emerge ever since, and I think the time is now. He has a touchdown in two consecutive weeks. His explosive 61-yard run on Sunday gave the Rams a spark of offense they desperately needed and struggled to find all day. They gave him the ball two more times on that drive, leading to his goal line touchdown. He finished the week as the RB16.

Brown is getting phased out of this offense. He has six carries over the last two weeks. Henderson has finished as the RB38/24/57/61 over the last four weeks. Akers is the most talented running back on this team and, similar to Dobbins, I think he can win people some championships down the final stretch of the season. That starts this week against an Arizona defense that is middle of the pack against the run. The only question is, how much will Sean McVay give him the ball? If he gives him another good workload, Akers will be a strong streamer at RB.
