    Week 1 NFL Survivor Picks

It’s that time of the year again. Football is back, which means gambling on football is back! A very popular gambling pool that people enter are Survivor pools. These are the best Week 1 NFL picks for survivor pools.

If you are unaware what a survivor pool is, the basic concept is you are to pick a team that you think has a good chance to win their game that week. You are only able to pick a team once once throughout the season, so you have to choose them wisely. However, a loss means you are out in most survival pools.

With that in mind, here are my best Week 1 NFL picks for survival pools.

Best Week 1 NFL Survival Pool Picks

    3. Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears

Despite Kenny Golladay being banged up for the Lions, the rest of the team is relatively healthy. Matthew Stafford is back and still has plenty of receiving weapons. The thing that really sets the Lions ahead here is that the Bears are starting Mitch Trubisky, who has been the joke of the NFL since he was drafted. The Chicago backfield is also banged up, which can pose a major problem for the Chicago offense as a whole. If the Lions are able to protect Stafford, then it’s likely that the Lions will be able to “out-offense” the Bears. This is also a good value pick, as getting the Lions out of the way early will help your strategy to keep better teams until the end of the season.

    Pick: Lions

    2. Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings

Danielle Hunter just went on IR for the Minnesota Vikings. Without Hunter, the Vikings pass rush takes a big hit. This is a big benefit to a Packers offensive line that has plenty of questions at right tackle. Minnesota also lost Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackenzie Alexander in the offseason, leaving Mike Hughes as the number one corner lined up against a top five receiver in Davante Adams. Aaron Rodgers will be able to sit back and have plenty of time to pick on the inexperienced Vikings cornerbacks. With Minnesota currently favored, this is one of the sneakier NFL picks of Week 1.

    Pick: Packers

    1. Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

The AFC East was shaken up after Tom Brady relocated to Tampa Bay. This opens the door for another team to take the division. The Bills look the best suited to win, after their playoff appearance last season. Josh Allen looks like one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. The Bills also carry one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Jets are incredibly hurt at receiver, which poses even better for the Bills defense. The Bills also play at home and, even though the Bills Mafia won’t be in full force, the atmosphere in Buffalo is always exciting. Sam Darnold has shown flashes of excellence, but has ultimately been inconsistent in his career so far. This looks like a heavy Le’Veon Bell game, which plays right into the Bills’ hands.

    Pick: Bills
