Washington vs Cowboys Overview
Washington’s offense has looked rejuvenated since Alex Smith assumed the starting quarterback job in the wake of Kyle Allen’s injury. Last week’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals marked the fourth straight game in which Washington scored 20 points or more, a number they reached only twice in the first six games. The running back duo of Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic has quietly turned into one of the best backfield tandems in the NFL. Of course, defense remains the heart and soul of the Football Team. Chase Young and cohorts will look to pressure Andy Dalton in a manner similar to the first meeting between the teams last month and cover as NFL picks underdogs.
The Dallas Cowboys upset the red-hot Minnesota Vikings last week to insert their names back in the NFC East race. The win also got them back in the favor of many NFL picks analysts. Getting Andy Dalton back from injury certainly helped, but most of that victory has to be chalked up to Mike McCarthy’s watermelon-smashing pregame speech. Dallas’ defense has been playing much better in recent weeks and will look to continue that trend against Washington. The Cowboys are 30-21-1 all-time in their annual Thanksgiving Day home game.

Monkey Knife Fight NFL Props
Monkey Knife Fight is a DFS site unlike DraftKings or FanDuel. Instead, the contests feature props to play, with varying multipliers for each contest. Unlike the aforementioned sites, you are only competing with yourself when making NFL picks on MKF, and you do not need to worry about annoying salary caps.
Monkey Knife Fight has several great NFL props for both the Thanksgiving Day games and the entire Week 12 slate. Here is one of my favorites for the Washington vs Cowboys game.
After a nice rebound last week, Amari Cooper and the rest of the Cowboys wide receivers figure to be up against it on Turkey Day. While Washington’s defense ranks top-5 in fewest fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, they are the best in the NFL at limiting opposing wideouts. 29.09 fantasy points allowed per game to the position is as good as it gets. In addition, with so many other pass-catchers for Andy Dalton to throw to, I’m not expecting much from Cooper in this game.
On the flip side, I like Antonio Gibson to go over his fantasy points total as one of my NFL picks for this game. The Cowboys are surrendering153.8 rushing yards per game, the second-highest clip in the league. While Gibson does cede some work to J.D. McKissic on passing downs, he remains Football Team’s primary ball-carrier. Ever a threat to reach the end zone as well, I’ll take the over on 13.5 Gibson fantasy points.
Predicting both fantasy points totals correctly would win you 3.5x your buy-in.

Washington vs Cowboys NFL Picks and NFL Odds
The point spread for this game has followed an interesting path in terms of movement. After opening on the lookahead as Cowboys -1.5, it took enough Washington money to move to -1 ahead of Sunday’s games. The books reopened the line at Cowboys -2.5 following Sunday’s action and the NFL picks market was willing to move it up to -3. We’ll take it…for the underdog!
After being written off by the public, it’s a pretty good bet to assume that those same ordinary Joe bettors will be rushing to back the Cowboys in this Thanksgiving showdown. Washington sets up as an excellent contrarian play that dominated Dallas in the first meeting this year. Kyle Allen quarterbacked that game, and I’m fully confident in saying Alex Smith is an upgrade.
While Dallas’ defense has been playing better, the key battle within this game for me is the Cowboys’ offensive line against the Football Team pass rushers. This isn’t the Dallas O-line we’ve grown accustomed to over the years. I like Chase young, Montez Sweat, and the rest to bring the heat on Thursday. If nothing else, this will be a close game, but I’ll go ahead and call the outright upset among my NFL picks too.
Pick: Washington Outright and Washington +3 (+130 and -120 respectively at Bovada Sportsbook)
