Verone McKinley III Draft Profile
Strengths
It’s rare to see a player post such a good tape in college. His instincts, aggressiveness and his ability to seemingly always make plays are among the best at the position in the 2022 NFL Draft class. He does a great job reading the quarterback’s eyes along with quick acceleration and hard hits that make life a nightmare for opposing pass-catchers. McKinley has great ball skills, hands and incredibly fluid hips.
Weaknesses
For as good as his tape is, the one problem with McKinley is his physical traits. He has average speed, is undersized and has short arms. His size and short arms can make it difficult to tackle or to be able to play physically with bigger targets. Although McKinley is a ball hawk, he often gets too greedy, which can leave the defense exposed.
