UFC 270 Bonuses
Much like other events, UFC bonuses of $50,000 are given to the fighters of the “fight of the night,” as well as two performance bonuses.
Fight of the Night: Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo
In the co-main event, Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo 3 lived up to the billing. The fight went the full five rounds, leaving many to guess who would be named the winner. It was Figueiredo who took the title back, with a promise of a fourth fight coming in the future.
While running back the same fights can get stale, it feels like everyone would like to see these two in the cage again.
Performance Bonuses: Said Nurmagomedov and Vanessa Demopoulos
While not actually related to Khabib, Said Nurmagomedov gave us a hell of a performance, even if it only lasted 47 seconds. He made quick work of Cody Stamann, choking him out almost immediately.
The other performance bonus went to Vanessa Demopoulos. This was cool to see since she was the final bout on the two-fight early prelim card. She also was more than deserving of this UFC 270 payout. Much like Nurmagomedov later on, she made quick work of her opponent. Demopoulos ended the fight in only 2:25 with an armbar.
How Much Did Francis Ngannou Make?
In the main event of the evening, Francis Ngannou squared off against Ciryl Gane, his old training partner. Ngannou entered the fight as the champion and the underdog, which was a strange combo, especially for someone that looks the way he does. However, rocking Stone Cold Steve Austin-esque kneepads, many were concerned about a possible knee injury for the champ.
However, it’s possible he decided to wear kneepads because he added a new dimension to his game. We see Ngannou manhandle Gane, taking him down multiple times purely based on his strength. At one point, Daniel Cormier exclaimed “Francis is doing ju-jitsu!” which is a terrifying thought.
After the dominating win, there were many questions surrounding Ngannou for many different reasons. Still, “how much did Francis Ngannou make” is one of the more fun ones to talk about. He was paid a guaranteed $600,000 with no win bonus. Of course, he still has sponsorship money and he gets a percentage of the PPV. Both numbers will not be publicly disclosed.
