Tyreek Hill Spent 8 Hours In Meeting With NFL This Week Over Child Abuse Case

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill was the subject of an eight-hour meeting with NFL investigators this Wednesday.

The player, who has been on suspension since April after it was revealed that he harmed his three-year-old son, got his first opportunity to present a defense for himself during the meeting. However, there is no timetable for a ruling, sources have told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The meeting was said to be a very thorough one in which Hill was expected to be questioned over an audio recording released by a local television station in April. Hill was heard making threats to his fiancee Crystal Espinal in the audio clip, also discussing disciplining his son with a belt.

The Chiefs suspended the 25-year-old from all team-related activities after an investigation was opened up in April. And, while prosecutors confirmed that they aren’t working on the case anymore, he could still face a suspension under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

There’s no criminal investigation going on where this matter is concerned either. But Hill and his fiancee are still involved in a case with the Kansas Department for Children and Families. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has stated that the league won’t wade into anything before the investigation is finished.

The child abuse case isn’t the first domestic violence matter involving Hill. The wide receiver’s issues date back to his college days, when he played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He was accused of physically abusing Espinal while she was eight weeks pregnant, with the female – now the mother of his son – showing up at a hospital in Stillwater bearing cuts and bruises all over her face and neck.

Hill was duly dropped from the team after an arrest was made, but it appeared that those days were behind him after he was picked up by West Alabama. Despite not getting invited to the combine, the Chiefs drafted him in the fifth round as the 165th overall pick in 2016.

The speedster has been an important part of the team and is now their top choice at wide receiver. He is expected to join up with them for training camp on July 26 unless there is a significant development in the case.

The Chiefs, who made it to within one game of the Super Bowl, are +375.00 to win the AFC next season with Bet365, while the New England Patriots still the favorites at +300.00 with William Hill. Deals from the aforementioned bookies, as well as the best nfl football odds from several others, could be found at CanadianSportBetting.

Bet365 is also offering odds of +800.00 on Kansas City winning the next Super Bowl. But the Patriots are also favored there at +650.00 with Betway. Ladbrokes has odds of +400.00 on these two teams facing off as AFC finalists like they did last season, before New England edged ahead en route to another Super Bowl win.

The Chiefs are also +300.00 to win finish as the AFC’s top seed next term and their chances should be boosted if Hill is allowed to start the campaign.
