Tyler Nubin Highlights
When is the 2024 NFL Draft?
The 2024 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 26th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, Apil 27th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.
Tyler Nubin Combine Results
To the disappointment of many, Tyler Nubin did not participate in the 2024 NFL Combine. We know his draft projection is fairly set, so there wasn’t too much pressure for him to participate in the drills. In addition to missing the combine, Nubin didn’t run at Minnesota’s pro day either due to having surgery on his lateral meniscus in his right knee during the offseason.
Nubin stated he should be good to go for training camp, and his choice to sit out for most of testing was due to some lingering tendinitis in his knee. Nubin did say however that he feels he is currently at about “90% right now.”
Tyler Nubin Scouting Report
Strengths
Although Nubin played all over the field in college, he would fit best at strong safety at the NFL level. He has great instincts and does a good job reading the eyes of the quarterback. He has also shown to be a willing tackler in run defense when needed. He’s good at tracking the ball in the air and has pretty decent hands as well.
Weaknesses
One of the biggest weaknesses for Nubin is his lack of speed and acceleration. He doesn’t have the gear needed to keep up with speed demons downfield, and he has trouble keeping up with receivers off the line of scrimmage at times when in man coverage. When it comes to run defense, while he is willing to help, he often takes bad angles and doesn’t force opponents to the sideline effectively at times.
