The Memphis Grizzlies coasted to an easy 85-68 Summer League win over the Utah Jazz, despite a double-double from Tony Bradley.

Tony Bradley Dominates Paint for Jazz

While the Jazz struggled overall, Tony Bradley, the 28th overall pick in the 2017 Draft, played a dominant game down low, scoring 14 points on 6-12 shooting, pulling down 15 rebounds and blocking two shots.

The Jazz recently traded away big man Derrick Favors, potentially opening up an opportunity for a player like Bradley. The 6’10” center out of North Carolina showed off his ample physical tools by dominating the boards and finishing around the rim. Bradley will need to continue to show an improved skill level, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him on the Jazz roster this season.

Yuta Watanabe Impresses for the Grizzlies

Yuta Watanabe, a second-year undrafted wing out of George Washington showed off a well-rounded game, putting up 20 points and nine rebounds.

Watanabe had a solid shooting night, going 6-of-11 from the floor, 1-of-3 from deep and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. He used his ability to get to the basket and get fouled to open up a solid mid-range pull-up game. He’s a skilled player with ideal size for a wing. The question for Watanabe is always going to be his ability to compete physically.

Other Notable Performances

Julian Washburn, a G-League veteran out of UTEP, was red hot from deep for the Grizzlies, going 5-6 from three, on his way to 20 points. Washburn saw some run on a two-way contract for Memphis last year, and shooting performances like this can’t hurt his chances to see some run next season.

Jarrell Brantley, the 50th overall pick in the most recent draft by the Utah Jazz, showed off some serious hops with a monster blocked shot. He also put up a respectable 11 points with four rebounds.
