A relatively quiet Tuesday in the NBA is headlined by a Northwest Division matchup in the Mile High City. Two teams will each be gunning for their seventh win of the season when the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Denver Nuggets. The NBA betting odds and Thunder vs Nuggets prediction experts are stacked heavily in favor of the home team.

Thunder vs Nuggets NBA Betting Overview

Thunder Outlook

No matter how young and unfamiliar the cast of characters gets in Oklahoma City, the Thunder continue to find ways to win. After smashing NBA betting expectations and qualifying for the Western Conference Playoffs as the 5-seed last year, OKC is off to a solid start again in 2020-21. They enter Tuesday’s game on the heels of an overtime victory in which star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped a crisp 33-point, 10-assist, five-rebound line. SGA leads the way, but the Thunder have a plethora of young, hungry players that make up the supporting cast around him. Lugentz Dort has taken the next steps at the offensive end. Big men Darius Bazley and Isaiah Roby have exceeded expectations. Veteran George Hill provides experience and leadership in the backcourt.

Thunder Injury Report
  • Out: Al Horford (personal)
  • Out: Ty Jerome (ankle)

Nuggets Outlook

It’s been a rocky start for the Nuggets this season. After surprising many NBA betting analysts by advancing to the Western Conference Finals last season, Denver is yet to establish a consistent flow in 2020-21. The good news is that they should be getting Michael Porter Jr. back from virus protocols later this week. Denver will welcome Porter’s offensive abilities with open arms. Aside from Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, the Nuggets have struggled to find any consistent production in his absence. Mike Malone’s squad will look to get back on track Tuesday evening after losing a close game to the Utah Jazz their last time out.

Nuggets Injury Report
  • Out: Michael Porter Jr. (virus protocol)
  • Out: Gary Whittington (knee)
  • Thunder 2020-21 Betting Trends: 7-5 ATS; 6-6 to the Over
  • Nuggets 2020-21 Betting Trends: 4-9 ATS; 9-4 to the Over
  • The Thunder are 5-1 both SU and ATS as a road underdog this season.
  • The Nuggets are just 2-6 ATS at home this season.
  • The total has gone Under in four of the Thunder’s six road games this season.

Thunder vs Nuggets Statistics

  • Oklahoma City is averaging 106.0 points per game (PPG) this season (No. 27 in the NBA)
  • Oklahoma City is surrendering 112.1 PPG on the season (No. 19 in the NBA)
  • Denver is averaging 115.4 PPG this season (No. 5 in the NBA)
  • Denver is surrendering 112.5 PPG (No. 20 in the NBA)

Thunder vs Nuggets NBA Player Prop Bet

Will Barton Total Rebounds: Under 5.5 (-143 at Bovada Sportsbook)

Michael Porter Jr.’s extended absence from the lineup has led to increased playing time for veteran small forward Will Barton. Despite averaging just a hair under 29 minutes on the season, Barton only grabs 4.3 rebounds per contest. Even with Porter out, Barton’s contributions on the glass have remained limited. He has fallen short of tonight’s NBA betting line of 5.5 rebounds in each of the Nuggets’ last five games. In a matchup against a physical and defensive-minded Thunder team, I like Barton to again fall short of the NBA odds for total rebounds.
