Texas vs Marquette Prediction | College Basketball Betting Picks
Texas has played seven games and only two have even been close. Outside of a close win over unranked Louisville, the only other game decided by 10 points or fewer was an 81-71 loss to #5 UConn. The Longhorns are led by transfer guard Max Abmas and bring a high-powered offense with five players scoring over 11.5 points per game. Although their defense has some question marks, there’s a reason the Longhorns are ranked 12th in the country.
Marquette had a great start to the season, but is coming off a hard 75-64 loss to in-state rival Wisconsin. Marquette’s offense looked completely flat and their defense didn’t have an answer for Wisconsin’s guards.
For as bad as Marquette looked on Friday, they always find a way to bounce back. On top of that, the Golden Eagles are one of the hardest teams to play at Fiserv Forum. Marquette will be out for blood and Texas will have to match an intensity they haven’t seen this season.
Max Abmas has played well for Texas year, but the formula to beat the Longhorns is to simply slow him down. Marquette and their hounding defense should be able to do that on their way to another statement win. Bet on Marquette to cover the spread.
Our college basketball betting Texas vs Marquette prediction tonight will be Marquette -7.5 at BetUS.
For what it’s worth, the ESPN Matchup Predictor gives Marquette a 79.5% chance to win.
