Texas Tech vs Montana State Prediction | March Madness Picks and Bracketology

Texas Tech hardly skipped a beat in the wake of coach Chris Beard departing for Texas last offseason. Mark Adams did a fantastic job in his first season at the helm. From a defensive standpoint, the Red Raiders ranked at or near the top of Division I in adjusted efficiency all season long. Senior Bryson Williams led the team in scoring this season averaging 13.7 points per game.

For Montana State, Xavier Bishop led the production offensively with 13.9 points and 4.3 assists per game. Unfortunately, he could be in for a long March Madness contest given that he is undersized at 5’8″. While the Bobcats did well to get back to the Big Dance for the first time since 1996, the level of competition they faced in the Big Sky this season comes nowhere close to the challenge presented by Texas Tech.

With this in mind, bettors can approach this game with the anticipation that the Red Raiders’ defense will show out. Neither team plays at a breakneck tempo either. Unless Montana State can somehow exceed expectations as far as solving Tech’s defense, 55 points might be their absolute ceiling. Dabbling with such a large point spread could be dangerous, so betting the total under is the next best way to bet on the strength of Texas Tech.

Our college basketball betting Texas Tech vs Montana State prediction tonight will be the point total going UNDER at BetUS

For what it’s worth, the ESPN Matchup Predictor gives Texas Tech a 95.4% chance to win.
