Kenyon Green Draft Profile

Strengths

Kenyon Drake may be the most versatile lineman in the 2022 NFL Draft. He recorded snaps at every position on the offensive line but center last season, but he spent most of his time at left guard. Drake is extremely athletic for his size, getting up to the second level and blocking linebackers effectively. He also shows solid flexibility while having an extremely strong lower half.

Weaknesses

Green needs to work on his hand placement. He gets a bit wide too often, which will lead to some penalties in the NFL. It was met with injuries last season in college as well, with seven penalties in his first eight games. His fundamentals in the open space could also use work, as he has the tendency to dip with his upper half instead of bending his knees.

What to Expect From Kenyon Green in 2022

As stated above, Kenyon Green is one of the best offensive guards in the entire 2022 NFL Draft. In other words, the Texans got a good one, and he should be an immediate starter in Week 1. With recorded snaps all along the offensive line, not only should Green be effective in his starting guard spot, but he could slide in either direction in a pinch if needed.

Houston Texans fans should not be alarmed by some early-season penalties, as Green gets more disciplined with his hands. Once he gets that figured out, he will be a road grader in the running game while also having the ability to pass protect.
